* What are your predictions for the storyline for the 5th Transformers movie?
* Tammy. Good or bad?
With Batman v. Superman already boasting a load of heroes, it comes as no surprise that just as many villains are there to counter balance them. Latino Review is reporting there will be as many as four antagonists lining up alongside Lex Luthor.
First up will apparently be Gotham villain, Victor Zsaz, the knife-wielding mass-murderer who carves a scar on his body for each of his victims. He'll also be joined by Luthor underling Morgan Edge, and David Cain, a fiftysomething assassin who also finds himself in Luthor's employ. Finally, the report claims that Senator Amanda Waller will be making an appearance, regarding Superman as a serious threat to her power, and planning a counter measure to take him out of the picture.
None of these have been confirmed by Warner. Yet.
Casting of the Week! Nick Cannon appears to be set to play Richard Pryor in a new biopic. Cannon appeared on TMZ Live on Wednesday and said he's been meeting with Lee Daniels about the film and has been prepping to play the late comedian, including growing out his hair and taking up smoking. He did not, it is worth noting, fully say that he will be playing the role, saying that the movie was not yet in production and he didn't want to jinx it.
People have been trying to get films about Pryor off the ground for years. Back in 2005 Sony was developing Richard Pryor: Is it Something I Said and had Marlon Wayans and Eddie Murphy close to playing the lead role at one time or another, but it fell apart. That film was to be directed by Bill Condon. Daniels' version has also been gestating for a while.
Pryor's children are opposed to the idea of Cannon as their father. TMZ spoke with Richard Pryor Jr. and Rain Pryor, who said that they don't believe that Cannon has the acting skills needed to play their father in the upcoming film.
More to the point, the two have an issue with the film overall. They told the site that the film has become a vanity project for their stepmother Jennifer Pryor, who is producing the film. They believe that she will skew the story in order to make her look good and are angry that they've been cut out of the project. They have said they would rather see Wayans play the role, saying that Wayans understands their father's psyche and can connect with the character in a compelling way.
GottaBeKidding! Mark Ruffalo has some ideas for who could play his cinematic cousin. Ruffalo participated in a Reddit AMA (As Me Anything) and was asked who he would cast as She-Hulk in a Marvel film. His response: Zoe Saldana or Emma Stone.
She-Hulk is Jennifer Walters, the cousin of Bruce Banner who received her own Hulk powers when she received a blood transfusion from Bruce Banner after being shot by operatives of a crime boss. She has gone on to become a member of several groups including the Avengers, the Defenders and the Fantastic Four, as well as having her own comic book several times. She works as a lawyer when she's not doing superhero-esque things.
Ruffalo said when asked, "Well I think Zoe Saldana would be a great She-Hulk. It'd be nice to see someone like her join the Avengers. Or someone quiet and demure like Emma Stone would be nice. But it would be up to the powers that be."
Of course, Saldana is already playing a green-skinned Marvel character in Gamora for Guardians of the Galaxy and Stone is Mary Jane Watson in the Spider-Man franchise.
Warner Bros. has revealed the first official picture of Henry Cavill as Superman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. As expected, they haven't toyed with the costume much from its look in Man of Steel. The news site also gave a new synopsis, saying that "Dawn of Justice continues to immerse Superman on Earth by working at the Daily Planet as Clark Kent along with Lois Lane (Amy Adams) and Perry White (Laurence Fishburne). But it also takes him to new environments such as Gotham City and introduces larger threats, including Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg). The debuting heroes Superman meets will affect his perspective on Earth and on the ones he loves, and Snyder feels his convictions will be drawn into question as well."
Snyder also spoke with the site, saying of Ben Affleck's Batman, "It's cooler to see a crusty old Batman beating the snot out of guys." He added that he hasn't yet filmed any scenes with Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, saying, "She's working out and getting buff and ripped." The film opens on May 6th, 2016.
Here is a new TV spot from Fox for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. The July 11th film stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Enrique Murciano, Kirk Acevedo, and Judy Greer.
A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth's dominant species.
While it's only been three years since Rise of the Planet of the Apes, it's been a full decade within the universe of the film by the time Dawn of the Planet of the Apes opens. A lot has happened within that time and in order to bring viewers up to speed, Twentieth Century Fox has teamed with Motherboard for three short films documenting what happened one year, five years and ten years after the release of the simian flu at the end of Rise.
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For! Sin City: A Dame to Kill For has a new clip out. The film will feature a star-studded cast that also includes Jaime King, Jude Ciccolella, Powers Boothe, Mickey Rourke, Clive Owen, and Bruce Willis as well as series' newcomers Eva Green, Josh Brolin, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Dennis Haysbert, Marton Csokas, Julia Garner,Juno Temple, Ray Liotta, Stacy Keach, Christopher Meloni, Lady Gaga, Jeremy Piven, and Crystal McCahill. Sin City: A Dame To Kill For arrives on August 22.
Columbia Pictures has released a new clip for the upcoming comedy Sex Tape, due out on July 18.
