Welcome! My name is Steve Gustafson and we're here to rundown the 15 Sexiest Cosplayers! Some of you may not be hip to one of the fastest growing segments of pop culture but cosplaying is big time. What is cosplay? In basic terms, it's a person who dresses up like a character from a manga or anime series, a movie, a videogame, etc. Many of them take many, many hours to construct their outfit to be as detailed and accurate as possible. That's dedication.
If you've been to a comic book/anime convention, it's a safe bet you've run into a cosplayer. This week we're going to list 10 of the Sexiest. No particular order. Vote for your favorite below and list who I missed in the comments.
Jessie aka Butterfly comes to us from Canada. She enjoys Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, and loves playing World of Warcraft, Dead Space and Soul Calibur. Fun Fact about Canada: For one day in 1943, Ottawa designated a hospital room to be "extraterritorial" (international) ground so a Dutch princess could be born a full Dutch citizen, a Dutch requirement for her to keep her princess title.
Li Ling's cosplay is considered so hot that she's actually been banned from a gaming expo in China. Fun Fact about China: Fortune cookies are not a traditional Chinese custom. They were invented in 1920 by a worker in the Key Heong Noodle Factory in San Francisco.
Alodia is a Filipina cosplayer, model, singer, and actress. As a celebrity endorser, she is one of the ambassadors and VJ for Animax-Asia known as the Ani-mates, and co-host of ABS-CBN's prank show Laugh Out Loud. She was named by UNO Magazine as one of the Most Influential Women in the Philippines. Fun Fact about the Philippines: Philippines are considered the "text capital of the world." Every day, 35 million mobile subscribers in the country are sending about 450 million short text messages (SMS). This is more than the total number of daily text messages sent in the United States and Europe together.
Jessica was born in in Reno, Nevada, and grew up in New Zealand. She has been cosplaying since 2009 and modeling since 2012, having served as an official spokesmodel for several video games and comic book series, including Lollipop Chainsaw and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. Fun Fact about Reno, Nevada: Nevada's Highway 50, known as the Loneliest Highway in America, received its name from Life magazine in 1986.
Sara Underwood is a model and actress who was chosen as the Playmate of the Month for the July 2006 issue of Playboy magazine and later became Playmate of the Year in 2007.
This lovely lady is all over the internet. She doesn't reveal too much about her personal life but she enjoys cosplay and her YouTube page is a real treat. Fun Fact about YouTube: YouTube was created by Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim in 2005. The three founders knew each other from working together at another Internet start up, PayPal.
Sweet Angel hails from Italy! She's also known as MiciaGlo on Deviantart and in just one year she remade her body from shapely but normal, to toned and fit. Fun Fact about Italy: Parmesan cheese originated in the area around Parma, Italy. Italians also created many other cheeses, including gorgonzola, mozzarella, provolone, and ricotta. When McDonald's opened in 1986 in Rome, food purists outside the restaurant gave away free spaghetti to remind people of their culinary heritage.
Faid comes to us from the city of Odessa in the Ukraine. She's been cosplaying for over 4 years and she's amassed a huge selection of costumes. Fun Fact about the Ukraine: One of the world's heaviest silver coins is found in Ukraine. The coin named "10 years of hryvnia revival" was first produced in 2006 and weighs exactly one kilogram.
Looking at Yuki's cosplay pictures, she likes to go from sweet and innocent to naughty and nice pretty quick. Fun Fact about Cosplay: The term cosplay is a Japanese portmanteau of the English words costume and play. The term was coined by Nobuyuki Takahashi while attending the 1984 World Science Fiction Convention (Worldcon) in Los Angeles.
Marie-Claude comes from Canada as well. Bourbonnais's famous 2009 cosplay portrayal of Mortal Kombat character Frost reportedly impressed Ed Boon and inspired the looks of female characters in the 2011 version of Mortal Kombat. Fun Fact about Mortal Kombat: When the game that would become Mortal Kombat had started production, the design team had launched the project with the intent on acquiring the rights to the Bloodsport name and adapting the popular 1980s film to an ultra-violent arcade romp. Living martial arts legend Jean-Claude Van Damme was set to endorse and potentially appear as himself, however Van Damme dropped out of the project to pursue stardom in another videogame that ended up never materializing.
Tasha is a Korean actresses and is known for her detailed costumes. Fun Fact about the name Tasha: According to Urban Dictionary, Tasha means lookin good, very stunning and always glowing. A tasha is a beautiful creature who gets a lot of unknown attention.
No cosplay list would be complete without Adrianna. In addition to cosplay, she's a big Star Wars fan, reads the A Song of Ice and Fire novels, watches Game of Thrones and plays World of Warcraft. Fun Fact about World of Warcraft: According to MMORPG Realm, it took 150 developers four years to write the game's 5.5 million lines of code; create its 30,000 items; design and build its 1400 locations; plan and implement its 7600 missions; and give life to 5300 non-player characters.
Ichigo is well known in the cosplay world and a noted fan of Japanese culture. She's also a video game fan and owns an impressive array of consoles, including the original Atari. In 1974, an unkempt, sandal-clad hippie walked into Atari's lobby and demanded a job. He was answering an ad in the San Jose Mercury that read "Have fun, make money." The hippie wouldn't leave until he got a job. Al Alcorn was called in to help. "I was told, ‘We've got a hippie kid in the lobby. He says he's not going to leave until we hire him. Should we call the cops or let him in?' I said bring him on in!" The hippie would earn $5 an hour and work as a tech. Had the personnel director called the cops, they would have arrested Steve Jobs. Other Atari employees: Ron Wayne and Steve Wozniak. The trio would, of course, go on to found Apple.
JiaJem is an international cosplayer and her dislikes are dislikes: spearmint gum, bananas, prewarmed seats. Fun Fact about Spearmint Gum: A lot of research has taken place on whether spearmint affects the sperm count. Results state that consuming it does affect the free testosterone level, but the total testosterone and DHEA levels remain unchanged.
Riddle, or Riddle1, is another popular cosplayer thanks to her elaborate and well made costumes. She appeared on SYFY's reality show Heroes of Cosplay as one of the protagonist, promoting craftsmanship and teamwork. She also received the highest amount of awards while on there. Fun Fact about Riddles: Riddles are of two types: enigmas, which are problems generally expressed in metaphorical or allegoricallanguage that require ingenuity and careful thinking for their solution, and conundra, which are questions relying for their effects on punning in either the question or the answer.
