All the Snake Plissken news to date, the Birthday Bash, the box office results, "Jurrasic Park IV" updates, "Freddy vs. Jason vs. ?", new DVD releases, more trailer ratings, and the critic's quickee!
Birthday Bash
Martin Short turns 57 - In this photo it looks as if Mr. Short is giving a creepy and perverted glance in the direction of some young girl. I had no idea he was this old. His future projects include The Spiderwick Chronicles.
James Caan turns 67 - James Caan is shocked at how amazing 411mania.com is, and especially impressed with how tremendously entertaining the Big Screen Bulletin news report is. He looks his age. The only thing he is doing right now is the show Las Vegas. I wish he would do some movies once in awhile.
Alan Arkin turns 73 - Alan Arkin has the most boring and uninteresting photos of any celebrity in history. He displays a toss up between a frown and a smile…kind of like my father. Anyway, I'm happy for his recent Oscar win. He has 4 projects on the horizon such as Bee Movie, Rendition, and Get Smart.
Sarah Jessica Parker turns 42 - She is looking with longing eyes and a beautiful smile at yours truly. She is mesmerized by my handsome looks, and wants me to whisk her away behind Broderick's back. Sorry, I'm taken. She also has 4 projects on the way. They are Spinning Into Butter, A Family Affair, Smart People, and Slammer.
Quentin Tarantino turns 44 - Just about every picture of this guy is odd. He has one of those goofy faces. I thought I'd use this humorous caricature. I won't make fun of him too much. He's Tarantino, and he rules. We all know he has Grindhouse coming out soon. He also is still working on Inglorious Bastards.
The News Bulletin
Turtle Power Shreds the Competition
The ninja turtles mutated into gold at the boxoffice. The Warner Bros. adventure "TMNT," a computer-animated update of the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" comics, cartoons and 1990s live-action movies, debuted as the top weekend flick with $25.45 million, according to studio estimates Sunday. Warner Bros. also had the second-place movie with its hit "300," which had been the No. 1 flick the previous two weekends. The battle epic set in ancient Greece took in $20.5 million, lifting its total to $162.4 million. Paramount's "Shooter," starring Mark Wahlberg as an ex-Marine sniper framed for a presidential assassination, led the runners-up among a rush of new movies, opening at No. 3 with $14.5 million. New Line's family fantasy "The Last Mimzy" premiered in fifth-place with $10.2 million. The movie centers on a brother and sister who discover a mysterious box of toys and are endowed with superhuman powers to help them preserve humanity's future. Fox Atomic's horror sequel "The Hills Have Eyes 2," about National Guard troops who stumble on a clan of mutant cannibals in the desert, opened at No. 7 with $10 million. Adam Sandler had a soft debut for his latest dramatic detour, the post-Sept. 11 drama "Reign Over Me," which came in at No. 8 with $8 million. The Sony release features Sandler as a lost soul whose family died in the Sept. 11 attacks, with Don Cheadle co-starring as an old friend helping him to reconnect with the world.
I'm on a roll lately with the box office predictions. I just thought a lot of families would wanna catch the new ninja turtles flick more than anything else. However, 300 is still doing extremely good box office numbers. They are indeed impressive. Most of the newer releases from last week took a huge drop like Premontion to #6 and Dead Silence to #10. I'm sorry to see that Reign Over Me didn't do better, but mostly I am shocked that horror fans didn't not come out for The Hills Have Eyes 2. The only other notable is The Last Mimzy, which I thought would have trouble cracking the top 10. Next week is hard to predict with Blades of Glory and Meet the Robinsons coming out. MY pick is for Meet the Robinsons to top them all. Also being released is the critically acclaimed movie The Lookout, which I can't wait for.

"Escape from New York: The Beginning"?
Exec producer John Carpenter, who directed the 1981 original, recently speculated that New Line Cinema's planned retelling of "Escape From New York" may be more of a prequel than a flat-out remake. Now the project's producer, Neal Moritz, has confirmed that approach. In a brief interview in the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, Moritz says the new "Escape" will recount "how Snake became Snake," adding that the story -- to be scripted by "Black Hawk Down's" Ken Nolan -- will be "almost an origin story." So there you have it. Snake Plissken, the film's one-eyed badass anti-hero, will be getting the "how he came to be" treatment, a la "Batman Begins" and "Casino Royale." Will that mean audiences will see Snake's military service, how he lost his eye and became an outlaw? Can fans expect to see Snake, Brain and Fresno Bob raising hell together? Ironically, IGN offered up it's own suggestions on how to reboot the "Escape From New York" franchise back in January -- weeks before the news broke -- and we said it should focus on Snake's back-story. "300's" Gerard Butler will play Snake, stepping into the thigh-high boots last worn by Kurt Russell.
Ok, so it looks as if this will not be a remake, which makes me feel a little bit better. However, a prequel by today's standards seems to be the last resort for a franchise. Whenever the studio can't think of a way to milk a series any further, they go with the prequel approach (Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, Hannibal Rising, etc.). The problem is, this franchise hasn't been doing much of anything except resting on the shelf since the release of Escape from L.A. back in 1996. Now that did not do well at the box office, but was spectacular nonetheless. What ever happened to the Escape from Earth script? Surely they would want to try that before going with a prequel. Shouldn't a franchise go full circle before anyone starts discussing an origin tale? As for the horrific casting decision, read on below….

The Real Snake Plissken is Pissed!
The news that New Line Cinema is remaking "Escape From New York" -- and have cast "300" Gerard Butler as Snake Plissken -- hasn't exactly met with universal approval from many fans of the original film. And one of those fans is the man who starred in it, Kurt Russell. Russell fumed about the remake to Entertainment Weekly, especially the casting of a Scottish actor to succeed him as one-eyed badass Snake Plissken. "I will say that when I was told who was going to play Snake Plissken, my initial reaction was 'Oh, man!' [Russell winces]. I do think that character was quintessentially one thing. And that is, American," the actor advised EW.com. To Russell, his "Escape From New York" anti-hero wasn't just any other role. "People come up to me and say, 'You played Snake Plissken.' I didn't play Snake Plissken, I created him!" He is also adamantly against the idea of making a cameo or playing any other role in it. "(Expletive) that! I am Snake Plissken! It's like Sean Connery always watching someone else do their version of Bond. I think one of the things, for instance, about "Escape From New York" that appealed to me was that it wasn't a special effects extravaganza. It's a quiet, dark world and it revolved around watching the behavior of this one guy. He's a fascinating character. In fact, he's the most complex character I've ever played."
If the original Snake Plissken doesn't approve, neither do I. Personally, I think it is ridiculous that they quickly grab Gerard Butler and put him in this. He does not resemble Russell in any way I can think of. Plus, Russell is still making films in case someone didn't notice. He obviously is fond of the character. Why not cast him in the role? This entire project is a horrible idea from every angle. Not only does this piss the Escape from New York fans off royally, but it is taking the franchise in a direction that it is not ready to go in. It has been over ten years since one of the films came out. All of a sudden they decide to make a prequel? I guess they are expecting legions of 300 followers to turn out for anything Gerard Butler does. There is no reason why Russell should not get the part he made legendary.

No Neil in "JP 4"
Sam Neill, who starred as a paleontologist in both the first and third "Jurassic Park" films, has long been rumored to be back for number four — whenever that finally gets going. In fact, going as far back as 2003, Neill has been saying he was excited about the direction the movie was taking and expected to be a part of it. An early film draft also allegedly had a part written in for Dr. Alan Grant, the character that Neill would be reprising. Nevertheless, with production finally expected to get the go-ahead this year, Neill says he knows nothing about "Jurassic Park IV" and probably isn't going to be involved. "I know nothing about it," the actor told the L.A. Daily News. "I haven't heard from anyone. I think [my involvement] is just one of the Internet rumors." For many fans, it won't be the same without Neill if producers Steven Spielberg and Frank Marshall do decide to make their fourth and last dinosaur adventure without him. What about Jeff Goldblum or any other key actors from the series? We'll be watching closely for news over the coming months, so stay tuned.
I enjoyed the first Jurrasic Park, hated The Lost World, and was pleased with Jurrasic Park III. However, I do not think I would go as far as too make a fourth. Will they be casting all new parts? That would be a horrendous decision. What plot could they possibly conjure up? I suppose they could do a prequel with this also, but if the character of Neill is involved, then it can't be a prequel. Providing they do go forward with #4, they should have either Goldblum or Neill cast. Without one of those two, another sequel is pointless. Fans would connect with another installment if they see a familiar face in the trailer. I have a feeling this project will cause numerous rumors in weeks and months to come.

DiCaprio and Winslet Reunite
Those former Titanic lovers Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet will re-team for the first time since that 1997 picture in DreamWorks' "Revolutionary Road." Sam Mendes ("American Beauty") is directing the film, based on the 1961 novel by Richard Yates. The book by Yates is described by Variety as being about "post-war disillusionment," specifically post-World War II. The tale details the lives of a married couple in the mid-1950s who are caught between "their true desires and the pressure to conform -- with explosive consequences." The picture starts shooting this summer, from a screenplay by Justin Haythe.
Well, we know they have chemistry on screen don't we? I think this sounds like a great film already. I love both Winslet and DiCaprio, and combined with Sam Mendes directing, it is a mixture that shouldn't lose. Mendes takes a good amount of time between the movies he helms, and he has not done a film with his wife yet, so it should be interesting.

News on the Jet Li/Jackie Chan Film
Michael Angarano is in final negotiations to star alongside Jackie Chan and Jet Li in the untitled J&J project. Rob Minkoff is directing, while Casey Silver produces. Angarano will play a troubled 17-year-old wannabe kung fu warrior who, after a humiliating defeat at the hands of a street gang, is sent back in time to ancient China on an impossible mission to set free the imprisoned Monkey King (Li) and return to him his all-powerful staff. John Fusco wrote the script. The project is due to start filming in early May in China. Ryan Kavanaugh and Raffaella De Laurentiis are executive producing. Relativity Media is financing. Angarano, repped by ICM and Coast to Coast, recently starred in Columbia Pictures' "Lords of Dogtown" and the Walt Disney Co.'s "Sky High." His upcoming projects include "Snow Angels" with Kate Beckinsale, "The Final Season" with Sean Astin and Rachael Leigh Cook and "Man in the Chair" with Christopher Plummer.
I'll admit, it is exciting that Jackie Chan and Jet Li will be doing a martial arts film together, but who in the hell thought Rob Minkoff would be the best choice for director? For those who don't know, Mr. Minkoff has helmed Stuart Little 1 &2, as well as The Haunted Mansion. His resume doesn't exactly display the proper credentials for leading two huge martial arts stars in their first film together. This has to be a great score for young actor Michael Angarano. He goes from Sky High and some television appearances, to this highly anticipated flick. I hope this is good, but I'm not sure if the man sitting in the director's chair will be able to pull it off.

Freddy vs. Jason vs. Michael?
Robert Englund seems fairly confident that his wish to team alter-ego Freddy Krueger up with Michael Myers – the masked maniac of "Halloween" – is going to come true. Englund tells MTV that John Carpenter, director of "Halloween", is in talks with New Line to work out a way to do the oft-rumoured "Freddy Vs. Jason Vs. Michael". Englund has been keen to bring Myers into the mix for a couple of years now - at one stage even suggesting "Halloween" heroine, Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), be reincarnated (she was killed off in "Halloween Resurrection") for one more bout with her regular adversary, Michael, as well as the two new rogues. I find it hard to believe the movie could co-exist with the upcoming "Halloween" remake – unless they planned on using Rob Zombie's version of ‘Michael Myers', which – indicated by the fact that Carpenter is the one in talks – they're not. Englund also tells the site that John McNaughton is still attached to direct the "Elm Street" prequel - though there's no word on when or whether that will happen.
What happened to Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash? Someone try and argue with me that using Bruce Campbell isn't the better idea. I guess Michael Myers thrown into the fray wouldn't be the worst option, but I was really hoping for Ash. I'm having trouble keeping track of all these sequels and prequels and remakes, and side-quels now. It never ends. I doubt that Jamie Lee Curtis will be in this, if it does indeed happen. It would make no sense to have yet another battle with Michael and Laurie when they went through so much hassle to have him face Freddy and Jason. Ok, all this sequel talk is starting to give me a headache. I must move to a different topic.

Screenwriter for Future Spielberg Project
Paramount Pictures has set Jonah Nolan to write "Interstellar," a space adventure that Steven Spielberg has been attached to direct since last year reports The Los Angeles Times. The drama revolves around explorers who travel through a worm hole and into another dimension. The project is based on the latest scientific theory by Kip S. Thorne, a Caltech physicist who is an expert on relativity. Jonah Nolan first became known in the industry as the brother of director Chris Nolan ("Batman Begins," "Memento"). Jonah penned the short story that inspired "Memento", and has since become an acclaimed scribe in his own right - co-penning both last year's "The Prestige" and next year's "The Dark Knight" with his brother. Nolan is presently working on "The Chicago Fire" for Warner Bros. Pictures and will get to work on "Interstellar" once that's wrapped. The project remains some time off however as Spielberg remains committed to shooting "Indiana Jones IV" this year and an Abraham Lincoln next year.
What worries me is that this Nolan brother has yet to prove himself on his own yet. Obviously I have no clue how much he contributed to The Prestige, but it seems to me that jumping from co-writing with his brother, to writing a Spielberg screenplay on his own is one gigantic leap. I am sure he is happy as hell, but this is a lot of pressure. Spielberg has made some truly masterful science fiction projects in the past, but has also been responsible for some bad ones like A.I. Artificial Intelligence and in my opinion War of the Worlds. The storyline looks promising, and I am crossing my fingers that it turns out positively. On a side note, I can't wait for the Lincoln biopic.
The 20 Second Sermon
Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint have now all officially signed on for the remaining Harry Potter films. Good, it's about time! An early preposterous rumor has Morlun being the central villain in Spiderman 4. He is a newer villain character, who is a vampiric being that fills his stomach with totems. I don't read the comics, but this bad guy sounds monumentally stupid. Apparently the "Batman" character will be in the new Justice League live action movie. Will Bale be in it? He signed a 3 picture deal that could force him to be in it. This is just a very bad idea.
What's Coming to DVD….Buy or Avoid?
DVD HEADLINE OF THE WEEK
Children of Men - - If you buy only one DVD this week, make it this futuristic sci-fi thriller from Alfonso Cuaron. Buy
Happy Feet - Ok, this was enjoyable, but it shouldn't have won an Oscar. I can't recommend buying it regardless. Avoid
The Pursuit of Happyness - Will Smith and his son are wonderful in this compelling story of a man struggling to get money. Buy
Curse of the Golden Flower - The Director of Hero made this. I didn't get a chance to see it, but I will definitely rent it.
Turistas - This was a bland, predictable, and preposterous horror flick that tries to be Hostel for some reason. Avoid
Early Bergman – Criterion Collection - Criterion releases many of the films Bergman made before his classics. They are Torment, Crisis, Port of Call, Thirst, and To Joy. This should be great.
Candy - An independent film with Heath Ledger and Geoffrey Rush that I did not see or hear anything about. I guess it got mixed reviews, but I don't know.
The New Adventures of He-Man, Volume 2 - The original series is much better. I would buy a best of for this newer series, but I don't think it exists. Stick with the classics. Avoid
Color Me Kubrick - Isn't this being released in theaters also? I haven't heard of a release like this since Bubble.
School For Scoundrels (1960) - The original was better than the recent remake with Jon Heder and Billy Bob Thornton. I don't know as either is worth owning though. Avoid
The Pebble and the Penguin - Cashing in on the penguin craze it seems. This 1995 film is really unknown now isn't it? Probably for a reason.
The Judi Dench Collection - This is an assortment of some of her earlier films for an expensive price. There are 5 in all.
The Critic's Quickee
I Think I Love My Wife - To find out all the details on this new Chris Rock film, read my full review by clicking here.
Dead Silence - Does anyone remember the Night of the Living Dummy stories from the Goosebumps books? When I was younger I got a kick out of those. Anyway, that propelled me to see this. I was hoping for a miracle when I saw the trailer for this movie. It did not occur. If you can view this in a B-movie sort of way, it might be partially enjoyable, but if you are expecting Saw all over again from Director James Wan, you are in store for a disappointment. The performances are just fine, besides the weird obsession Donnie Wahlberg has with using an electric shaver. In all actuality, Wan employs some nifty little special effects touches that I observed. The story follows a young man who investigates a local legend in his hometown after he receives a dummy anonymously, and then his wife is mysteriously killed. At one point he travels to an old theater by way of boat across a stream. The building is large, ominous, and delightfully creepy looking. The main problem with the film is the several plot holes. I can't explain without spoiling the story, but they are impossible to ignore. The dummy was laughably spooky as his eyes shifted to one side. He is not actually scary, but he is entertaining enough. The twist at the end was kind of satisfying, but ultimately preposterous. I probably liked this as much as anyone could, but trust me, that doesn't mean I am recommending it. Final Rating = 6.0/10.0
Premonition - I could have made time for this I guess, but I just didn't have any interest in wasting money on it. I thought it looked dreadful, and Sandra Bullock's most recent films do not entice me at all.
Movievision Weekly
Monday Big - On FMC at 8pm, this terrific film airs. I absolutely loved this movie when I was a kid, and it made me worship Tom Hanks. I don't care what anyone says, this is a masterpiece. ****
Just My Luck - This was Lohan's dose of teeny bopper comedy for 2006. It wasn't the worst movie I have ever seen, but it was still sickening at times. This starts at 8pm on Cinemax. **1/2
Tuesday The Truman Show - One of Jim Carrey's best movies. This was expertly directed, beautifully acted, and just fabulous all around. You can watch this on TNT at 8pm. ***1/2
The Fast and The Furious - The racing movie that started it all. At first I didn't mind this, but now I hate it with a passion. Vin Diesel and Paul Walker are dreadful in this movie that did nothing but influence kids to drive like morons. This is on USA at 9pm. **
Wednesday A League of Their Own - Director Penny Marshall crafts one of the best sports movies period about a woman baseball league. Tom Hanks is of course unforgettable, but the rest of the cast does wonderful as well. At 8pm on ABC Family, you can relive this. ****
Crocodile Dundee - I have to admit, the ending to this first film still makes me smile. This was a very funny and heartwarming comedy with Paul Hogan. It is on at 5pm on Comedy Central. ***
Thursday The Quick and The Dead - With Sharon Stone, Gene Hackman, Leonardo Dicaprio, and Russell Crowe, this western gets more enjoyable for me as time goes by. Watch it again at 8pm on AMC to see how entertaining it is. ***
Wet Hot American Summer - One of the most overrated and dumb comedies I have ever seen. This has a cult following, but I have no clue why. I have a feeling I will make some people mad with these comments, but I can't help it, this sucked. *1/2
Movie Dictionary: Word of the Week
Typecasting - Typecasting is the process by which an actor is strongly identified with a specific character, one or more particular role, or characters with same traits.
Actors are selected for their roles by either a "Casting Director" (typically found in small productions), or (in larger productions, such as motion pictures) this task is delegated to group referred to as "Central casting." Central casting often exhibits a pattern of placing the actor in subsequent similar character roles after his or her first success (especially if an actor is particularly well-received in that role by the audience or by critics). Typecasting happens to both actors of great and modest ability: an actor may become typecast either because of a strong identification with a particular role or because he or she doesn't have the versatility or talent to move on to other roles. Some actors welcome the steady work that typecasting brings, but in general it is seen as a negative.
There have been instances in which an actor has been so strongly identified with a role as to make it impossible for him or her to find work portraying other characters. Typecasting is also a particular problem for character actors. This is particularly common among leading actors in popular TV series and films. Clayton Moore and George Reeves, who played the Lone Ranger and Superman (respectively) in the Golden Age of television, were also victims of typecasting to the extent that Reeves' role in the feature film 'From Here to Eternity' was allegedly removed from the film after test audiences ended up shouting 'There's Superman!' whenever he appeared.
Child actors may also suffer from typecasting. The appearance of the adult actor may differ so much from their childhood persona to make them less marketable. Some actors successfully overcome this (see child actor).
Many actors attempt to escape typecasting by choosing opposite, unconventional, or simply unexpected roles. This is called "playing against type." For example Tom Hanks eschewed his "nice guy" image by playing a gangster in "Road to Perdition." Dustin Hoffman's choice to play the disreputable Ratso in "Midnight Cowboy" after playing the naive Benjamin in "The Graduate" is a famous instance of an actor avoiding typecasting. Elijah Wood attempted to escape typecasting after his portrayal of Frodo Baggins in "The Lord of the Rings" by playing a trio of undesirables - a football hooligan in "Green Street", a cannibalistic serial killer in Sin City and a dishonest employee in "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind." To avoid being typecast as a comedy actor, Robin Williams accepted a number of dramatic roles, including Rainbow Randolf, a disgruntled, foul mouthed children's show host in "Death to Smoochy"; Sy Parrish, a film developer who becomes obsessed with a particular client's family in "One Hour Photo"; and a sociopathic writer in "Insomnia." Williams also won an Academy Award in 1998 for his role in "Good Will Hunting."
Some actors may turn down otherwise desirable roles for fear of typecasting. Denzel Washington declined to portray Martin Luther King Jr. after playing two civil rights leaders, Malcolm X and Steve Biko. Some actors embrace typecasting, however. Actor and martial artist Chuck Norris usually portrays heroic characters (at least after his first two roles, in which he was a hitman in "Way of the Dragon" and a crime boss in the Hong Kong-produced "Slaughter in San Francisco"). Later, Norris turned down the role of Sensei Kreese in "The Karate Kid" because, as a martial arts champion, he felt he should not be connected to an evil character. Embracing typecasting is sometimes referred to as Seagalism (named for the often typecast actor Steven Seagal). Fans often expect a particular actor to play a "type", and roles which deviate from what is expected can be commercial failures. This beneficial typecasting is particularly common in action movies (eg. Jackie Chan) and comedies (Adam Sandler), but much less common in Drama, although many B-list character actors make careers out of playing a particular dramatic type (mobster, business executive), and it is often suggested to would be actors to audition for roles which fit their type. Arnold Schwarzenegger is particularly notable for using his standard persona (Austrian accent, muscular build) to his advantage. Referring to typecasting, a phrase in the entertainment industry is "at least you're cast".
Based on the Trailer…
Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End - This looks awesome! This is a good trailer. It had just enough humor and action to get me excited. Hopefully this will deliver. Trailer Rating = 10.0/10.0
Stardust - With an all-star cast, this looks extremely bizarre. I'm not sure what I think yet. It actually looks pretty bad after one viewing. Trailer Rating = 6.0/10.0
Next - Sporting a Tom Hanks Da Vinci Code hairdo, Cage leads Julianne Moore and Jessica Biel in this movie that actually looks really promising. I am a big fan of Cage though. Trailer Rating = 8.5/10.0
Underdog - Jason Lee sounds funny as the voice of this dog, but the preview does not catch my fancy. I hope it isn't as awful as it appears. Trailer Rating = 6.0/10.0
Georgia Rule - Lohan might be a pain in the ass, but her choice of movies is usually intriguing. This could be worthwhile, you never know. Jane Fonda is in it. Trailer Rating = 7.5/10.0
Lucky You- Eric Bana and Drew Barrymore would make a delightful duo with Robert Duvall in the background. This should be average. Trailer Rating = 7.0/10.0
Nancy Drew - This new movie is based on the books in some way I guess. It seems molded to fit the teeny bopper audience. I am not impressed. Trailer Rating = 5.5/10.0
Pathfinder - Call me crazy, but this looks laughably bad. The trailer just irritates me. Trailer Rating = 5.0/10.0

The Condemned - Wow, a WWE films release that has an intriguing concept. I'm actually looking forward to seeing this. You never know, it might be good in that B-movie way. Trailer Rating = 8.0/10.0
Vacancy - This Luke Wilson thriller looks like it could be really bad, or at best a 3 star movie. We'll see. Trailer Rating = 6.5/10.0
The Reaping - Hilary Swank's new supernatural flick about the destruction of a small town due to plagues. Ehh, this looks stupid. Trailer Rating = 6.0/10.0
Resident Evil: Extinction - This was an average teaser trailer. I'm still not sure how this will turn out though. Trailer Rating = 7.0/10.0

Mr. Brooks - Any movie with Kevin Costner in it catches my interest. This thriller looks like it might be worthwhile with William Hurt and Demi Moore, but Dane Cook in a serious role? Trailer Rating = 7.0/10.0
Are We Done Yet? - Ice Cune is better than this. He needs to pick some films that don't look horrible. I have no reason to see this. Trailer Rating = 4.0/10.0
Balls of Fury - A new comedy with Christopher Walken. Some parts made me laugh, but overall I thought this looked dumb. Trailer Rating = 5.0/10.0
The Invisible - This will likely be a film that relies on some big twisty ending. It doesn't look all that great, plus I have seen this trailer too many times. Trailer Rating = 6.0/10.0
The Kingdom - If Chris Cooper is involved, I'm there. Oh yeah, Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Garner are in this Iraqui actioner too. Trailer Rating = 8.0/10.0
Meet the Robinsons - I've seen this trailer quite a few times now, and the dinosaur scene still makes me laugh. Otherwise, this looks like a dumb CGI offering. Trailer Rating = 6.5/10.0
Perfect Stranger - A thriller with Halle Berry and Bruce Willis. They are not a good combo. I am not that impressed with this. Trailer Rating = 5.5/10.0
Bee Movie - This is the second trailer. It is much funnier. I can't wait to see this. It's not made by Pixar, yet it still looks good. Trailer Rating = 8.5/10.0
Knocked Up - This actually looks hilarious with a couple former Freaks and Geeks stars combined with 40 Year Old Virgin director Judd Apatow. Trailer Rating = 8.0/10.0
Fracture - A mystery thriller with Ryan Gosling and Anthony Hopkins. Ehhh, it's too early to tell how good I feel about it. The trailer showed nothing new. Trailer Rating = 7.0/10.0
Blades of Glory - This looks like most Will Ferrell movies, only with Jon Heder and Craig T. Nelson thrown in the mix. I expect a bunch of laughs, but nothing extraordinary. Trailer Rating = 7.5/10.0
Delta Farce - This looks incredibly dumb. I don't think Larry the Cable Guy is as funny as everyone says. Trailer Rating = 3.0/10.0
Sunshine - This new film by Danny Boyle looks outstanding. I can't wait to see it. We could use some good sci-fi. Trailer Rating = 10.0/10.0
Oceans 13 - This looks wonderfully slick and edgy. I can't wait for it. Trailer Rating = 9.0/10.0
Shrek the Third - This will make so much money, and rightfully so. It looks fantastic. Trailer Rating = 9.0/10.0
Live Free or Die Hard - This third sequel to the successful franchise does not look overly terrible. Maybe it will be shockingly good. Trailer Rating = 7.5/10.0
The Simpsons Movie - I am not the biggest Simpsons fan, but this trailer is hilarious. Maybe this movie won't be all that terrible. Trailer Rating = 8.0/1.0
Hostel: Part II - If you have read my material for the past 10 months, you know how I feel about this. The first one sucked, and this one will also. Trailer Rating = 3.0/10.0
Evan Almighty - This sequel doesn't have strong plot. Evan is told to build and ark. Dumb, but Carrell is still funny. Trailer Rating = 6.0/10.0
Hot Fuzz - This is the new film from the Shaun of the Dead group. It looks very funny. I'm looking forward to it. Trailer Rating = 9.0/10.0
Grindhouse - The unique offering from Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez will most likely rock, but the trailer makes it look quite bizarre. Trailer Rating = 9.0/10.0
Spiderman 3 - Despite my dislike of the second one, this newer trailer is friggin awesome. I'll admit, I'm looking forward to this greatly. Trailer Rating = 9.0/10.0
