The VICIOUS TV News Wrap 05.08.07
Posted by Steve Vicious on 05.08.2007

- Written in front of a not-so-live audience @ 411studios in California

Opening Segment - Introduction
Hello and welcome to another edition of the TV News Wrap. Paris is off to jail and my beloved Gilmore Girls are on there way out for good. But let's get to our top story which involves Rosie O'Donnell…

Top Story

  • Big Mouth Rosie to get a new job?
On yesterday's edition of "The View," Rosie and the gals went on to mindlessly gab about Rosie being one Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People in the World list. Time Magazine described Rosie as loving the "fights" she has with people like Bill O'Reilly, Tom Seleck and Donald Trump. Rosie argued that she doesn't love to fight, but rather it's just that she is speaking for all of the women in the world. Here's what she had to say: "I don't really love to fight. I just -- you know, I think a woman's voice needed to be heard on network TV so I came and said my piece."

Anyway, the big news regarding Tokyo Rosie was that there are many interested cable news channels (MSNBC, CNN and even FOX) that want Rosie to anchor her own political news program on their channel. It seems like Rosie loves "speaking her mind" and would obviously love to do it for a living. This is similar to fellow comedian Al Franken, who used to host a radio show on the Air America network. MSNBC is supposedly the front leader, but it now seems that O'Donnell's agent is interested in having Rosie get another show similar to "The View." The format of the show would see Rosie paired up with a guest host each week while they discuss current issues. Rosie is seeking to get a $40 million dollar a year deal, which was rumored to be the amount she wanted from "The View." CBS is the frontrunner there, but I think O'Donnell would be better suited for cable in a political news show like the one O'Reilly does. I doubt Rosie would sign anything with FOX News Channel, but MSNBC would a good fit for the big mouth. You have to admit that Rosie talking about her crazy political opinions would make for great television.

    Random TV News

  • Roseanne Barr not interested in replacing Rosie?
Yes, it seems like the always outrageous Roseanne Barr doesn't believe she would be a good fit for "The View." After hearing the rumors that ABC was interested in hiring her to replace the departing Rosie O'Donnell, Barr went on to say that her opinions were too out there and that nobody would agree with what she has to say. So I guess Barr is out of the running to replace Rosie now.

  • Olberloon is the target of the GOP Presidential Candidates?
Last Thursday, MSNBC aired the first GOP presidential debate on their network. Unfortunately, the airing was not a smooth ride for the GOP as many of the candidates, specifically Rudy Giuliani, expressed concerned over Keith Olbermann being apart of the coverage. As many of you already know, Keith Olbermann claims to be unbiased towards anyone but we all know that is completely false. CBS News writer David Bauder suggested that "having Olbermann anchor -- as he will continue, with Matthews, for big political nights throughout the campaign -- is the MSNBC equivalent of Fox News Channel assigning the same duties' to Bill O'Reilly." However, NBC SVP Phil Griffin says Olbermann "can tell when it's appropriate to express himself in a commentary and when to be a journalist..." For any puff pieces on Olberloon, please read one of the March issues of Rolling Stone Magazine.

    Paris is off to jail!
Ding dong the bitch is dead! Well, maybe she's not dead but she's headed to place where they won't bow to her every command – JAIL!!! Yes, Paris Hilton was in court last week following her recent driving incidents (there's too many to tell which one is which). In court, the judge sentenced Hilton to jail for 45 days for violating her probation. Her sentence begins on June 5. After hearing her sentence, Paris started to scream "I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" Paris' mother screamed insults at the judge for what he did to her baby girl. Anyway, Hilton claimed she didn't know her license was suspended, but the judge said there was paper work in her car that stated otherwise.

    So long, Rory and Lorelai…
Well, it was inevitable but the CW has decided to cancel "Gilmore Girls" after seven seasons. There are rumors surrounding the cancellation of the show that Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham were not going to sign contract extensions to continue doing the show. Of course, the Gilmore Girls cannot continue without the Gilmore girls. I don't care much for the show's demise since I haven't seen it since last season's finale. I went on the record here at the TV News Wrap with my utter discuss over Lorelai sleeping with Rory's dad after she and Luke called off their engagement thanks to her stupidity. I said I would never watch the show again and I meant it! All I had was "Gilmore Girls" seasons 1-5 on DVD to keep me comforted during that time.

    Viciously Ridiculous

Hilton has gone on the record over the weekend and stated that the cops pull her over all the time because they want to hit on her. Here's exactly what Hilton had to say: "I think I get in more trouble because of who I am. The cops do it all the time. They'll just pull me over to hit on me. It's really annoying. They're [the cops] like, 'What's your phone number? Want to go out to dinner?' "

I know Lohan isn't a TV star, but she did appear as a guest star in "That 70's Show" when she was dating Fez. Anyway, it looks like one of her "friends" decided to leak some images she took with her cam phone which shows Lohan snorting cocaine! What a shock! Credit theSuperficial for the images below.

David Hasselhoff must be embarrassed right now with video footage surfacing of him drunk out of his mind. Hasselhoff is a recovering alcoholic and this video was taken by his 16 year old daughter. Unfortunately, the video has cost him custody of his kids due to the Hoff being involved in a nasty divorce.

On a lighter note, I finally managed to find the clip of Tracy Morgan, who plays Tracy Jordan on the best NBC sitcom today "30 Rock," pretending to be Thomas Jefferson for his next blockbuster film entitled "Jefferson." Watch it!
