Opening Segment - Introduction
Hello and welcome to the TV News Wrap. There was some great news happening this week regarding Rosie O'Donnell finally quitting "The View" after a major meltdown last week. And that's our top story…

Top Story

  • Rosie O'Donnell leaves "The View"
In what has to be the greatest news I have come across in quite some time, big mouth Rosie O'Donnell has decided to quit "The View" earlier than previously expected. Rosie was expected to leave the show in mid-June after her one-year contract would expire, but things changed last week. First, Rosie was scolded by Barbara Walters on "The View" on Monday's edition of the show after Rosie made some of her usual crazy views known.

But on Wednesday, the incredible Elisabeth Hasselbeck decided to stand up for what she believed in after Rosie started her usual shit against her. The segment started off with Joy Behar giving "legitimate" reasons for the impeachment of President George W. Bush, and this led to Hasselbeck to defend her man. Then Rosie decided to grill Elisabeth regarding what happened earlier in the week. Rosie believed Elisabeth should have defended her views after what Rosie believes was another character assassination on the part of the "Republican pundits" who said she called the U.S. troops fighting in Iraq terrorists.

Elisabeth took off the gloves and just gave Rosie a total knock out, which surprised many including me. The following couple of days there were reports that after the show, Rosie trashed her dressing room in a fit of anger. Then there was the rumor that one of Rosie's head writers was caught drawing mustaches on pictures of Elisabeth at the studio where "The View" is recorded.

Over the weekend, Rosie posted a video diary on her blog where she describes her treatment on "The View" as being a stepchild. Rosie also went on to attack Bill O'Reilly by calling him a "stupid, uninformed hatemonger." Rosie also went on to say that she was ganged up on Monday as a way to setup her departure. I guess Donald Trump was right in the end Rosie did self-destruct …

    Random TV News

  • "Family Guy" to spoof "Star Wars"
It looks like the season premiere of "Family Guy" will be one of the biggest in the show's history. George Lucas has given the show his blessing in order to allow them to spoof "Star Wars." It will be an hour-long episode which will see the Family Guy characters re-creating "Star Wars." Fans of "Robot Chicken" on Adult Swim will also see that show spoof "Star Wars." "Robot Chicken" was created by Seth Green, who voices Chris Griffin on "Family Guy." Stay tuned for the much hyped "Family Guy" Star Wars episode in the fall.

  • Who will take over Imus' job on MSNBC?
It looks like MSNBC is getting closer to making a decision on filling their morning slot once held by Don Imus. Right now there have been several different personalities hosting their own Don Imus-like shows on MSNBC. The names range from David Gregory to Joe Scarborough to Jim Cramer to big mouth Stephanie Miller. It is strongly rumored that Scarborough will likely receive the coveted slot. Scarborough is a former member of congress and currently hosts "Scarborough Country" on MSNBC every weeknight.

  • Jose Canseco pitches a reality show
Former Major League Baseball superstar Jose Canseco has been pitching an idea for his own reality television show. The show is currently titled "A Day with Jose," which basically sees fans go to a website and tell Jose what you would do if you spent a day with him.

    Viciously Ridiculous

It's now time for the most ridiculous items of the TV world this week.

First up, "The Simpsons" movie is starting to see the fight over where its premiere should take place heat up. There are many cities in the United States named Springfield and they all want to host the world premiere of the Simpsons' movie. Springfield, Illinois is currently the front runner and that's how it should be. I have always imagined that the Simpsons were from Illinois. Let's hope they get the premiere, though…

CBS has gone green with its Emmy campaign. Instead of sending its voters DVD copies of episodes pertaining to an award that will eventually get trashed, CBS has decided to send the voters to their website in order to watch the episodes online instead.

A few months ago, I reported that Carol Burnett was suing the show "Family Guy" over a skit where her "charwoman" character was used. Well, it seems that the judge in that case will throw the lawsuit out. Burnett claimed that the character and a snippet of the music were used without her permission.

Anyone who has ever searched around Ebay will tell you that you can find all kinds of stuff being sold. In this case, someone is currently auctioning off a Jeep Wrangler that was driven by Lauren Graham on "Gilmore Girls." The bid is starting off at $35,000 and it is being sold by a private seller.
