Opening Segment - Introduction
Hello, and welcome back to the Vicious TV News Wrap. The new television season is about to begin within the next two weeks and am I the only person not interested in any of the new television programs? That's our top story of the day…

The Lack of "Buzz" for the fall 2007 TV Season
Every September for the past eight years, I have been pumped with excitement to see the new programs and season premieres of some of my favorite shows every fall. Unfortunately, this year the buzz is not there. Why is that? With the exception of "30 Rock," I'm not excited about seeing anything on television right now. The new programs lack the excitement I had going into fall 2006 with the premieres of "30 Rock," "Heroes," "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" and the Jeffrey Tambor/John Lithgow comedy that bombed. I touched a bit on this subject on my recent appearance on Ben Piper's Fact or Fiction this past Friday, and I am extremely troubled by it. Most of the time, I just Tivo a program and watch it later. The problem is my attention span has shrunk to an all-time low because I fast-forward through most of the shows. I recently recorded the final episode of Gilmore Girls, and from what I managed to see, it stunk. I can't be the only person who isn't pumped for the fall 2007 schedule, right?
And now, let's get to the latest television news…

Rachel Bilson coming back to TV!
Rachel Bilson, who previously played the part of the beautiful Summer Roberts on FOX's "The O.C.", will be guest starring on a few episodes of NBC's newest action-comedy, "Chuck," this fall. Bilson will be playing Chuck's first love interest. This is great news because I was a huge fan of Bilson's acting ability on "The O.C." and I believe she is one of the most talented young actresses in Hollywood right now. I hope this leads to Bilson getting a permanent role on "Chuck" or her own show. Maybe a guest appearance on "Scrubs" would benefit her career greatly?
NBC to pull "The It Crowd"
The US adaptation of the UK sitcom "The It Crowd" is reportedly set to be pulled off the NBC mid-season schedule. US adaptations from the United Kingdom have had a negative track record on NBC so far. "Coupling" immediately comes to mind. Although "The Office" is the only exception to the rule, it looks like "The It Crowd" is another black mark on NBC's record for taking ideas from other countries and trying to make something out of it for them.
"The View" welcomes back Meredith Vieira
Meredith Vieira, who left "The View" to anchor NBC's "The Today Show," is returning to her old stomping grounds on October 8th to promote "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire". I guess it's not that big of a deal, but it is news.

Has anyone else noticed that Nick at Nite is airing "The George Lopez Show" now? Classic television my ass! Not that I hate the show, but how can they start sticking a show that premiered in the 2000s?
