Opening Segment - Introduction
Hello, and welcome to the Vicious TV News Wrap. It's another week of television news to cover, so let's get to it…
Top Story
Cavemen rock?
After much hype from ABC, I finally watched "Cavemen" and I was left very pleased. I know it seems stupid, but the show is type you watch for fun and for a few laughs. I went in as a television viewer and not a television critic, which was probably the wise thing to do. Some have described the show as something you watch during the commercial of a "good" show. I will agree with that statement, but I still like watching it and I'll look forward to seeing a new episode Tuesday night.
Random TV News
Samaire Armstrong in rehab
"Dirty Sexy Money" star Samaire Armstrong, who will best be remembered for her role on "The O.C.", has checked into rehab. There are no specific details on why she entered rehab, but this can't be good. Armstrong will reportedly participate in an out patient and she will continue to work on "Dirty Sexy Money."
Patrick Swayze coming to TV
A&E has signed Patrick Swayze to star in their FBI drama, "The Beast." The show is apart of the network's attempt to launch an original programming block not seen on A&E since 2002. It's good to see A&E trying to become a real network in order to compete with USA and Sci-Fi.
NBC gets a breath of ‘Oxygen'
NBC Universal says it will soon acquire Oxygen Media for a reported $925 million dollars. For the past coupe of years, Oprah has been carrying the network to somewhat respectable numbers. NBC Universal already owns Bravo and USA Network, so adding Oxygen is a great addition to their roster.
G4TV lands some Heroes
G4TV has snagged the rights to broadcast season two episodes of "Heroes" every Saturday night starting November 3rd. This move is similar to what NBC and USA do with "Law & Order: SVU", which sees first-run episodes of SVU on NBC first, and then the episode gets replayed on USA a week later. This is a great move for G4 because it brings a mega popular show during its peak onto their network.
Jimmy Kimmel is going to be busy
The great Jimmy Kimmel will be hosting two different shows on two different coasts next week. Kimmel is scheduled to fill in for Regis Philbin while Philbin goes on vacation from "Live with Regis & Kelly." "Live" is taped in New York, which means Kimmel will also have to fly back to the west coast to do his late night talk show. Now this is a bit silly I think because Kimmel could have easily had one of the shows taped in the same location as the other show. For example, he could have brought his late night show to New York while he filled in for Regis. Anyway, I wish the man all the luck in the world.

Viciously Ridiculous
It's now time for the most ridiculous item of the television news world this week.
Former "Baywatch" star David Hasselhoff reportedly suffered from alcohol poisoning last week. Hasselhoff has had a public battle with alcohol after a home video of his drunkenness was leaked onto the internet in the spring. I hope Hasselhoff pulls through with his battle with alcohol.
