Opening Segment - Introduction
Hello, and welcome to the Vicious TV News Wrap. It's another week of television news to cover, so let's get to it…
Top Story
An MTV "REALITY" show is scripted?
Gavin Beasley, who is "The Hills" star Lauren Conrad's new squeeze, spilled the beans about the show being scripted! Oh, please, don't act surprised. He revealed what the show's producers suggested he do on the show. Beasley described meeting Lauren's ex-boyfriend, Brody Jenner, and how Brody would talk crap about him while being filmed and then he would be sorry about saying the stuff he said. Brody also told Gavin that they were just trying to make good television. Man, I hope this finally wakes up all of those air heads who watch that stupid network.
Random TV News
ECW gets renewed
After weeks of speculation regarding the fate of the ECW brand, the Sci-Fi Channel has renewed the show past December 2007. There were rumors running around the net that WWE would either have to stream ECW on its website or merge it with their Smackdown! brand. I never doubted ECW would get renewed because it still manages to pull in excellent ratings for Sci-Fi and it's a good lead-in for their other programming content.
The Lohans coming to E!
Dina Lohan confirmed that a reality series starring her family will begin production on October 30th and it will star Dina and her two other children Ali and Cody. The show will mainly follow Dina as she tries to achieve the same success she achieved with Lindsay with Ali, plus she'll do her motherly duties with Cody such as taking him to soccer practice.
Terminator series debut announced
FOX has announced that "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" will debut on January 14th. The first episode will be a two-hour premiere and it stars "300" actress Lena Headey as Sarah Connor. She was super hot in "300". The show picks up right after the events of "Terminator 2".
Prison Break spin-off in the works
FOX is reportedly planning on a spin-off to their popular series "Prison Break". Te series is currently titled "Prison Break: Cherry Hill" and it will be set in a women's prison. In order to pull this spin-off off, a new regular character will be introduced on "Prison Break" later this season. A women's prison show could be what spices up our television sets, but unfortunately, the series will be censored since it's on network television.
Jay Leno doesn't want to leave
The Los Angeles Times has reported that Jay Leno does not want to leave "The Tonight Show" as planned in 2009. Viewers who watch the show regularly have noticed some skits where Leno seems to demonstrate his feelings regarding his phasing out of NBC. The only reason NBC wanted Leno to leave in 2009 was to keep Conan O'Brien on the network when he was negogiating his contract a few years back.
Viciously Ridiculous
It's now time for the most ridiculous item of the television world this week.
Dog the Bounty Hunter, a.k.a. Duane Chapman, has offered to co-sign for the bond of jailed "Girls Gone Wild" creator Joe Francis. Dog thinks Francis has been mistreated by the Florida legal system, but Dog also has some very threatening words towards Francis. "If he fools me or proves me wrong, I will personally track him down to the ends of the earth at no charge, and bring him back before the judge." Joe Francis has been behind bars for more than six months as he awaits trial on federal tax evasion charges.
