Opening Segment - Introduction
Hello, and welcome to the Vicious TV News Wrap. It's another week of television news to cover, so let's get to it…
Top Story
Leno, Letterman & Conan returning to TV soon!
"The Tonight Show" and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" is set to return with brand new episodes starting January 2, 2008. Both shows are set to return without their writers. Conan made it clear that he returned because he didn't want 80 people who work him on his staff to be fired and that an unwritten version of "Late Night" is possible. Meanwhile, Dave Letterman is negotiating with the WGA on trying to return to TV WITH his writers. World Wide Pants, which is considered by CBS as an independent company, is the one negotiating with the WGA on getting a waiver that will allow Letterman to return with his writers. This is big news because Letterman is a big enough name to get away with this, but I wish Leno & Conan would follow his path. Letterman has been a member of the WGA for over 30 years, so he should know better than anyone how much they are suffering right now without their jobs.
Random TV News
ABC benches "Big Shots"
The remaining three episodes of the Michael Vartan, Dylan McDermott and Christopher Titus program "Big Shots" has been pulled by ABC in favor of repeats of "Private Practice." "Big Shots" was handed the coveted post-Grey's Anatomy timeslot with the hopes of landing a big audience, but it seems the mixed reviews have taken their toll on the freshman series. "Private Practice" should fit in quite nicely after "Grey's Anatomy" since it's the show it was spun off of in the first place.
The Hulkster vs. Rosie O'Donnell?
During the press conference for the new "American Gladiators" show on NBC, Hulk Hogan was asked which celebrity he would most like to see a Gladiator pummel. He answered Rosie O'Donnell because "somebody needs to shut that big mouth up." Rosie would later post on her blog her response to Hogan's comment by writing the following:
"Hulk Hogan
The wrestler guy
Wants to pummel me
Isn't that sweet
And wildy odd
Its like a gang of gross guys
A club almost
Old dumb white and on tv"
Hogan is set to co-host the new "American Gladiators" on NBC with female boxer Laila Ali. The new show debuts on January 6th on NBC.
A Marie Osmond comeback in '08?
After doing very well on "Dancing with the Stars", Marie Osmond is reportedly working on a new talk show for 2008. The New York Post is reporting that the show is set for the fall 2008 season and it will be titled "The Marie Osmond Show", which will feature mainly celebrity interviews. There are also rumors circulating that Marie will re-team with her brother Donny on an unscripted show soon. Donny & Marie 2?
The Best Simpsons' Episode EVER?
One of my personal favorite movies of all time is "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind." You can read my full-review of the DVD set here at 411movies. I used to love "The Simpsons" with passion until I just found the show to be boring and tedious. Unfortunately, I have been ignoring the Simpsons family for years and I may have missed on their best episode in years when this past Sunday night they aired an episode entitled "Eternal Moonshine of the Simpson Mind." In this episode, Homer has a potent drink that erases the last 24 hours of his memory and seeks help in order to piece together the events that led to his family being gone. Oh, man, HOW COULD I MISS THIS?
Pamela Anderson & Rick Salmon to star in reality TV series?
Pamela Anderson and her new husband, Paris Hilton sex tape co-star Rick Salomon, are set to star in their own reality program for E! The show is set to debut sometime in 2008. At this time, the E! network has no comment.

Viciously Ridiculous
It's now time for the most ridiculous item of the TV world this week.
Lauren Conrad, star of MTV's "The Hills," is defending her show against allegations that it is scripted. Lauren said that she would tell the producers if something interested were to happen in her life, the producers would want her to re-enact it on camera. Oh, L.C., you'll be the death of reality TV someday…
