The Hollywood 5 & 1 08.02.08
Posted by Steve Gustafson on 08.02.2008

Hey! Welcome back to the Hollywood 5 & 1! I'm your host, Steve Gustafson, and I scan through every gossip tabloid, scroll every celebrity related web site, and call my vast network in Hollywood to find the slightly offbeat news you might have missed during the week. Or just ignored. Do you have something to contribute? A celebrity sighting? A funny story? Shoot me an email at stevethegoose@gmail.com. Open 24-hours! Before I forget, peep the links at the bottom for some other 411mania goodness!

Do Me a Favor
If you see Eddie Furlong make sure you say "Happy Birthday" from me. He needs the kind words!

Quote of the Week
"Think about your actions and get a driver. It's so much cheaper in the long run."
Recently jailed reality TV "star" Khloe Kardashian with words of advice for Shia Labeouf to "be smarter" after he was caught drink driving over the weekend.

THE STUFF THAT JUST MISSED THE LIST STARTS...NOW...
I will buy these things by the box! No joke. A new Mr. T candy bar ad has been pulled from British TV screens after upsetting gay groups. The actor shoots Snickers bars at a speed walker in the `Get Some Nuts' commercial, yelling, "You are a disgrace to the man race. It's time to run like a real man." A gay rights group claims the ad is homophobic, prompting the Mars company bosses to axe the ad. I have to call bull on this. This had all the makings of a CLASSIQUE commercial. Mars, you are a disgrace!..........Glad to see they are keeping it real! I guess. Production on Russell Crowe's upcoming Nottingham film has been postponed because of fears...the leaves in Sherwood Forest will be the wrong color. Yes. Leaves...........Lindsay Lohan's mom has been left red faced...again...after her teenage daughter Ali was allowed to audition for a porn film director, and the meeting was captured on camera. I'm shocked. Just shocked! Little Lohan's audition for new movie Trolls (Classy!) was captured for reality TV show Living Lohan, but no one knew that Peter Davy, the man behind the film, was the director of X-rated movies like Voodoo Lust and Dreams in the Forbidden Zone. Lohan's spokeswoman says, "Ali had no idea about Davy's past. If she did, she never would have auditioned for him." I believe you...**WINK**Anything for attention .........THUG LIFE! Veteran comedian Jerry Lewis was tackled by guards at Las Vegas's McCarran Airport on Friday after they found a gun in his carry-on luggage. Lewis claimed he didn't know the gun was in the bag (Can I get another **WINK**?), which had been used previously by other members of his family. His manager insists the weapon was a "fun gun" used as a show prop. I want to see the show that uses the "fun gun". Just curious is all.......... I always thought GOONIES NEVER SAY DIE!? Corey Feldman has dismissed long-running rumors about a sequel to The Goonies, insisting studio bosses will never let it happen. The actor tells Moviefone, "Well, The Goonies is one of those mythical sequels that will never happen. I mean, it's something that Donner and Spielberg were behind for years and years, and again it's a Warner Bros. issue; they just feel they don't want to take the gamble on making the sequel." Sure Corey. Donner and Spielberg are afraid of taking a gamble. Let's make this a triple **WINK** and call it a day.

RANDOM LIST OF THE WEEK
Halle Berry has topped a new list of shame thanks to her performance in Gothika. The Oscar-winner has 'beaten' Cameron Diaz and Garcelle Beauvais to land at number one on King magazine's new Worst Performances By Models Turned Actresses countdown.
The top five is:
1. Halle Berry in Gothika
2. Cameron Diaz in Any Given Sunday
3. Garcelle Beauvais in Wild Wild West
4. Cindy Crawford in Fair Game
5. Tyra Banks in Coyote Ugly

STEVE SALUTE!
To Los Angeles police chief William Bratton. Bratton claimed photographers have calmed down since "Britney started wearing clothes (and) Lindsay Lohan has gone gay", referring to the actress' rumored romance with DJ Samantha Ronson. He said in an interview with local TV station Knbc-TV, "If the ones that attract the paparazzi behave in the first place, like we expect of anybody, that solves about 90 per cent of the problem. The rest we can deal with. If you notice, since Britney started wearing clothes and behaving; Paris is out of town not bothering anybody anymore, thank God, and evidently, Lindsay Lohan has gone gay, we don't seem to have much of an issue." Bold words for Hollywood!

Alright, let's get down to business. What's the Hollywood 5 & 1? It's real simple; I go through 5 things out of Hollywood this past week that made me scratch my head and 1 item that's not so bad. Got it? Good. Let's go!

The 5

Own a Piece of His Shame!
I applaud the ingenuity of this guy. Wreckage debris from Shia Labeouf's car crash at the weekend is already up for auction on website eBay.com. I checked...it's still there...as of deadline. The actor was arrested and charged with driving under the influence (DUI) after his truck flipped across a road and collided with another vehicle in Hollywood on Sunday. And an online entrepreneur hopes to cash in on the Transformers star's misfortune, he claims he dashed to the scene of the smash and salvaged "broken glass and plastic pieces from Shia's truck". ONLY IN AMERICA! The eBay listing reads, "This is your chance to own a piece of Hollywood History... Own a piece of his shame. I just happen to live a few blocks from the crash site and collected some leftover souvenirs." MAD POINTS for his "Own a piece of his shame"! He adds, "The debris was collected afterwards and was in the public domain on the street. It's legal." Bidding on the wreckage items will end on Saturday. If any of you win this let me know.

David Arquette 2008 or the Reverse Rock A.K.A. Dwayne Johnson?
I read this a couple of times and I'm still waiting for the punchline. Still...very interesting. Wrestling fan/actor/dude married to Buffy, Freddie Prinze Jr. has won his dream job as an official member of World Wrestling Entertainment's creative team. The Scooby Doo star will take a behind-the-scenes role with the Wwe. I'm very curious to see how he fits in with the backstage crew. Wwe chairman Vince McMahon says, "Freddie Prinze Jr.'s passion, energy and creativity make him an excellent fit for Wwe." Could this be the start of something? What actor could make the jump from the big screen to the wrestling scene next?

The Geeks Have Spoken
You knew this was coming. Director Christopher Nolan's movie The Dark Knight has become one of the most mistake-ridden films of the year so far, eagle-eyed cinema-goers have spotted 16 bloopers in it. Observant nerds with too much time went to MovieMistakes.com and noted a variety of continuity errors and historical inaccuracies in the blockbuster, up from the 12 mistakes found in 2005's Batman Begins. The errors include characters' altering hairstyles, mis-matched audio, and an additional police truck magically appearing in a car chase scene. However, these faults are nowhere near as bad as those in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The Harrison Ford-starring film currently holds the top spot for the movie with the most errors so far this year, it features a whopping 40 bloopers. If you are one of the people who found an error take heart and read the next story!

False Hope to Millions
How many of you will read this and get excited whenever a hot girl comes to your job? That lucky son-of-a-gun! Actress Maria Bello is pleased she flirted with a waiter at a family birthday celebration, because he soon became her boyfriend. The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor star was at a relatives birthday party, when she spotted a restaurant staff member who took her fancy. And instead of gossiping about the hunk to friends, the determined star marched over and asked if he was single. She tells New York gossip column Page Six, "I walked up and said, 'Can you take this cake and put a candle in it? And by the way, do you have a girlfriend?' "(And) from that night on, we've been together." What are the odds?

Screech...Just...Screech
This guy is pure hustle! Dustin "Dirty Sanchez" Diamond will lay bare the behind-the-scenes secrets from his years as Screech on Saved By The Bell in a new book. The actor who played the lovable nerd on the the classic sitcom and its spin-offs from 1989 to 2000, will expose for the first time what Diamond and his cast members, including Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley, got up to off set. Behind The Bell, which Diamond will pen with the aid of a ghostwriter, will reveal "sexual escapades among cast members, drug use, and hardcore partying," reports People.com. Alright, I'll be straight with you. I'm buying this book. This guy is desperate enough to sell out everyone and bring the truth to light.

& 1

End of an Era
A tip of the hat to everyone involved with At the Movies with Ebert & Roeper. This week, Roeper and Ebert both left the show, whose format has been around since its beginning on public television in 1975 to its latest incarnation through Disney-ABC Domestic Television, with Roeper hosting with a rotating partner in Ebert's health-related absence. Fellow At the Movies founder Gene Siskel died of a brain tumor in 1999, and Roeper was selected as his permanent replacement in 2000. In recent years, Ebert has battled cancer and was left unable to speak, even as he continues to pop out reviews. No matter what your thoughts about critics are you have to give props to this show and those who participated. The thumbs up/thumbs down was made famous here and this is a big deal. I didn't always agree with their opinions, but I respected them and their work ethic.
