Freakin' Sweet Forum 11.19.07: Super-Sized Hyper Mega Awesome Edition

100 strong and growing.
Welcome to a super-sized mega hyper awesome edition of Freakin’ Sweet Forum!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m your host Cory Schibler. In lieu of the traditional recap issue of the Freakin’ Sweet Forum, I’m just going heap praise on the show for a few paragraphs.
So here we are again with another episode and Stewie has, once again, had enough. That thought means that the show has pretty much come full circle with the 100th episode. Brian, who has been present for all of Stewie’s previous diabolical murder schemes, still believes that Stewie is full of crap; this leads to Stewie making a trip out to sea and murdering Lois with a small submachine gun.
Yes that’s right, Stewie really finally got Lois. After eight oft-interrupted years, young Stewart Gilligan Griffin has done in his mom. Or has he?
A year later, a series of strange phrases and a pile of “evidence” leads to Peter being arrested for Lois’s murder. We once again come full circle with the first episode as when Peter is once again convicted of a crime, the Kool-aid man once again bursts through the courtroom wall.
But sadly for Stewie, it was not to be as Lois is alive and well, nursed back to health by a merman and working on a fat camp in North Carolina. Then after being struck by a beer bottle at a white supremacists’ rally, she regains her memory (I don’t know how they come up with this stuff.)
However before they can catch Stewie he runs away, which leads to a vast search by Joe and company, including Superman’s fortress. Of course, Stewie is at the Griffin house the entire time, where after a lot of small talk he murders Cleveland and kidnaps Brian.
Stewie takes his new hostage to CIA headquarters where he takes over the nation’s power grid despite a desperate attempt at stopping him by DEPUTY DIRECTOR BULLOCK AND STAN SMITH OF AMERICAN DAD! Sorry, I just series’ crossovers. Anyway, Stewie demands to become president of the world and it is made so.
Back at home; Lois decides that she has to kill Stewie, so she loads up a la the Matrix and heads to the White House. What follows is one of the greatest animated (or non-animated for that matter) fight scenes I’ve ever seen; equal parts Matrix, Crouching Tiger, and every martial arts movie ever made. It finally ends when Peter puts a bullet through Stewie’s chest and one through his head.
But all is not as it seems, as the screen pops up and says simulation ended. We then see that Stewie was running a VR simulation of what would happen if he murdered Lois. Brian then berates him about how that it pisses people off to have an entire long story end in it all being make believe. Stewie says that it isn’t as bad as the Sopranos ending in the middle of a sente…
I’m just playing with yall, I wouldn’t end in mid-sentence. That would be fun though.
Anyway, I just want to say that I thought that the past two episodes of Family Guy were incredible. The show came around full circle and in my opinion that is a very good thing. Kool-aid was back, the combined Dallas and the Sopranos to create an amazing episode with a laugh out loud ending.
Some people say that Family Guy has lost a step since being resurrected, but I think that it is still going strong. They may not hit a homerun every time at the plate, but they sure like to crowd the plate. I applaud the Family Guy staff that is still going strong, and I say thanks to all the other fans that made it possible for this show to return to TV where it belongs.
I know that it has to be considered ironic that my super-sized mega edition of the Freakin’ Sweet Forum is the shortest one that I have written since the beginning, but I have finals coming up very soon and I have got a ton of school work to work on. So this will be the final edition of Freakin’ Sweet Forum for a few weeks, but I’ll be back after finals with season two of Family Guy right here on the Freakin’ Sweet Foru…
The 411: Stewie kills Lois! Peter kills Stewie! It's all a frickin' dream! These episodes rule!
