Going Down to South Park 05.08.08: Ike's Wee Wee
Posted by Jerome Cusson on 05.08.2008
After watching this episode, my wee wee kinda hurts.
This is an example of an early run episode that really doesn’t work, but I still find there to be a great deal of very funny moments involving Mr. Mackey.
One of the things Trey Parker and Matt Stone did for season two was expand the universe of the show. Instead of simply focusing on the boys, they decided to look at some of the other fun characters. In the previous episode, it was Officer Barbrady. In this episode it’s Mr. Mackey. Mackey’s voice is obviously the first thing you would think of to rip him on. The kids mock him relentlessly as he tries to give them a speech about how drugs, cigarettes, and alcohol are bad. Very funny part as Garrison passes around a tiny bit of weed to the class.
WHile Mackey drones on and the weed is passed, Kyle asks Stan if he’s going to attend his brother’s bris that weekend. Stan isn’t quite sure what a bris is. Cartman wants to know what a bris is since there’s going to be food, cake, and a band. The boys continue discussing the bris while Mackey rambles on and on about drugs. The marijuana never makes it back to the front area and it’s time for the counselor to get called into the principal’s office. She calls him out for being stupid and even suspends…no wait…fires him for being stupid. Mackey is now going to be left desolate and without a way to make ends means.
Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny all get off the bus and complain about how they were just searched. They’re complaining because that marijuana never made it to them. Cut to Mr. Garrison watching an obvious parody of The Teletubbies while high. As the kids keep walking, Chef drives up and chastises the boys for what happened with the marijuana. This is an early example of a message episode. See, the boys keep being told drugs are bad, but no one will tell them why. And when someone does tell them why, it’s a vague explanation that they wouldn’t understand. Chef tells them to wait until college to do drugs. Chef also won’t be going to go to the bris since he doesn’t want to watch Ike get circumcised. The boys are still very young at this point in the show, but they’ve now realized this bris isn’t such a great idea. They think Ike's wee wee is going bye-bye
Mackey is taking crap from various people on the street, so he heads off into a bar for some alcohol. The little devil and angel appear over the shoulder of the former counselor and actually agree for once. Mackey is about to get stone cold drunk.
Stan bursts in to tell his friend to stop the bris while the other boys are playing the snow. Apparently, they’re gonna chop off his wee-wee. The boys are not happy about this situation, and Kyle goes to find his parents to see what the heck is going on. Mackey, on the other hand, is not doing very well at all. He’s staggering around drunk and not really sure where he’s at. When he gets home, he finds out that he’s been evicted for selling drugs to children.
Kyle asks his parents what the deal is and they officially find out that this circumcision is coming. Kyle runs away with his brother as Mackey sleeps in an alley. He is offered some marijuana and takes it. At the train station, Kyle tries to get his brother a ticket but no money means no ticket. Kyle resosrts to kicking the baby and Ike is off to Nebraska. Mackey wakes up and finds a couple of hippy types. These hippy types give him some LSD and he’s higher than a kite.
Kyle created an Ike doll and the dog takes a liking to the doll since it's made out of bones. Mr. Mackey’s head floats in and makes sure the boys are staying out of trouble. That’s a very Monty Pythonesque joke. Cartman doesn’t particularly want to go back to Kyle’s parents house, but all the other boys convince him otherwise. Ike arrives in Nebraska. People keep thinking the little bastard is a trash can. Kyle, the boys, and the Ike doll arrives back at the Broflovskis. That annoying dog that took a liking to the doll earlier is back and ravages the poor doll. The Broflovskis think their son has been killed while the boys realize they’re in a sticky situation.
The next scene is a funeral where they bury Ike. Kyle learns that his brother is not Canadian but also not his blood brother since he’s adopted. Kyle doesn’t take the news well. He tells his parents where Ike is actually located.
Mr. Mackey bumps into Jimbo and Ned. The former counselor is now a hippy, and is even invited by some chick to come fingerpaint with her. The Brolovskis and the boys head to Nebraska to find Ike. They incredibly find the little boy posing as a table post in a random bar. Mackey gets laid for what I guess is the first time. He even begins talking about one of those damn hippies, and for some reason his head even shrinks. Kyle won’t apologize for doing what he did to Ike as Mackey enjoys a honeymoon in India. The guy finally seems happy. Hell, he’s even off drugs. The rug is then pulled out from under him when Principal Victoria, Garrison, Ned, Jimbo, and the rest of the A-Team take Mackey to rehab.
It’s time for the bris and the boys are staying in their room. Ike tries to show some photos to prove that he really is Kyle’s brother, no matter where they’re blood related or not. Mackey is in rehab and is arguing with one of the women who works there because he won’t admit to having a problem. Ike doesn’t want to be circumcised and hides from the doctor. He hugs his brother, and Kyle defends him from the mean old doctor. Then he realizes that circumcising is not castration. Hell, the circumcision makes the penis look bigger. Not elaborating anymore on that.
The only thing you need to know is all the boys want to be circumcised again. Mackey gets out of rehab and gets his head back to normal size. Kyle goes over what he learned and we go to one last act break.
Garrison goes over some of the things he learned about. Cartman and Stan are discussing plans for their bris while still mocking the voice of Mackey. As the counselor drones on, we’re out.
The “Screw You Guys, I’m going home” for best line/moment of the episode: Mr. Mackey's head becoming smaller after his tie comes off.
The Pip moment for worst line/moment of the episode: Nothing too bad actually.
The “Oh My God, they killed Kenny!” moment: Kenny falls into the grave and kills himself, and no one cares.
The 411: This is an episode with some good social commentary about our views on drugs and how we handle people on drugs with a few laughs mixed in. This is not the best episode by any means, but there’s still some very funny stuff to be gained.
Another week, another piss-poor south park "review" by the ultra-hack that is Jerome Cusson. At least you didn't schill your crappy blog this week, douchebag.

7/10 is an okay score
but the rest of the review is still lacking

^^ Hell, the circumcision makes the penis look bigger. ^^
I think that warrants clarification as the opinion of a misguided cartoon character, not that of a rational reviewer. I mean, you don't believe that cutting part of anything away can increase that thing, right? 95% of the non-Muslim world does not circumcise.

No, I don't necessarily believe it
