Entourage Review: Season 5, Episode 10: Seth Green Day

Do you see the pun in the title? Alright. You won't be hearing any of their music. By the way, it's better late than never.
Seth Green Day
My apologies for not having this for Monday morning. I had to work late on Sunday and my lack of TiVo and OnDemand made me have to wait for a replay. So here goes it, a couple of days late.
LAST WEEK: Vince arrives on set. Nothing goes right with Jason Patric and Werner the director. Ari talks Babs balks. Patric tells Vince Werner told him they were his lines.
This is the much anticipated “Seth Green Day” episode. Amy Miller calls E in a conference call with Charlie...who's getting some. E knows, but it doesn't seem that Amy knows. Funny. Amy loves the script and says she has the perfect person for the surf shop owner: Seth Green. E balks, Charlie loves it, and it looks like we're heading for a showdown. Charlie continues to get some. Wow. Amy says that Seth told her he was really good friends with E, which is great. The fellas aren't a fan of the situation, but they light up as Vince comes down happy and ready to start work...until he notices most of his lines are cut.
At his home, Ari is looking for eggs and finding none. His daughter walks downstairs and wonders what's bugging him. He tells him about the problem with Barbara and Andrew. So in true teenager fashion, she tells him to just be convincing. Easy as that.
We cut to Seth at the pool and he and E talk a bit. Of course, Seth is being a jerk, asking about E's vagina and what not. What a surprise. They get down to business and Seth suggest they meet up at a pizza place downtown. E is two and a half hours out of town, but Seth says he won't do it if E doesn't come. Vince says E should go, and E agrees. Drama and Turtle promise that they could get down there to back him up if need be. Vince saw Werner as they drove up, so he gets out and talks to him about the lines getting cut, and Werner says that he forgot to tell Vince. He liked day one, and thinks Vince should go along with his vision, but Vince gets defensive about his character in a really good moment for the show's character. Werner then agrees to shoot it both ways: his way and Vince's.
Ari gets to the office and sees Barbara there, and Lloyd informs him that Andrew called. Ari and Babs converse, as Ari congratulates her on being named Hollywood's 33rd most powerful woman. B smells something fishy a bit, but Ari sincerely asks Babs to have an open mind when they meet Andrew. Babs is surprised and says she will. Ari with the parting shot after she had walked away. He then tells Lloyd to call up Andrew and tell him they will help him get ready for the meeting.
E arrives at the pizza place looking for Seth and he's not in there. All of a sudden, a call. It's Seth, sitting on the beach. Now that is impressive. Talk about your dick moves. They lay it on the table and Seth says he doesn't want to work for a suckerpuncher like E, so he offers that he wants to do the show on one condition: E needs to tell Sloan to call Seth and tell him to do the show. WOW. In case you guys didn't know before, in this show, Seth Green is, well, a jackass.
On set, Drama and Turtle entertain the crowd, but then Werner walks by and he scoffs at Drama. An assistant comes by and tells Drama and Turtle they need to leave and they get booted from their chairs! They cut to the real-time movie scene and Vince is about to do his big monologue, but then Werner cuts the scene. Vince insists on doing it again, so they do. Werner is not impressed.
In Beverly Hills, Ari and Lloyd take Andrew to get himself all fancified for the meeting with Babs. Andrew correctly assumes it's an interview, but Ari tells him that he'll be fine and that he's not interviewing for anyone.
Meanwhile, E shows up at Sloan's and she isn't home, but then she walks up behind him and startles him. They get awkward as they go inside and Sloan wonders what's up. E tells Sloan about the thing with Seth, but not before E finds out that the dude Sloan was dating isn't dating her anymore. Sloan asks E if he wants her to do it as she laughs about the whole thing, but E says she doesn't have to. They flirt a little bit more before E gets going. Perhaps another one of E's classic attempts at love?
The help tells Vince how they got booted on set, and then to add on to that, Vince and Werner butt heads over what happened with the shoot. Werner talks about how he wants to make sure that Vince realizes it's his movie and not Vince's, and that he's been making sure it happens for two years. Werner asks Vince to watch the scenes that night and promises he will be happy with his work.
Andrew then walks in looking dapper and gets the people in the office staring. B is pretty cold towards Andrew as they sit for the meeting, although she is impressed with how well Andrew did in the Valley with mostly TV writers. Babs makes the inevitable “Minor Leagues” comparison, saying people sometimes can't hack it in the big-time, and then asks Andrew how he would get someone like Julia Roberts. She wants a pitch, but Andrew needs a moment as Ari goes crazy about what just happened. Barb tells off Ari and says she wants no part of him, and then we see that Andrew is having his first panic attack in 15 years. Ari then gets the address for the luncheon Babs is being honored at. THIS will be good.
E and Charlie talk a bit as E tells him that he thinks Seth has it in for him and is just messing with him, knowing he doesn't want any part of the show at all. Charlie says that he wants the show bad, anyways. Amy then calls saying that Seth called her and wants to have a meeting in the afternoon. Charlie is stoked and E heads back off the 101 and back into the city.
Werner and Vince look at the tape as Werner points out some of Vince's “bad habits.” Vince looks at what Werner is talking about, but there's nothing that he can see that's wrong. Werner continues to point things out as it baffles Vince, but then Werner tells Vince to be ready for the next day, because there is an Oscar-worthy scene for Vince in it. Vince seems like he might come around.
Ari, as he usually does, pulls the natural Gold barnstorming and goes right to the mike and begins to congratulate Babs on being able to ride his coattails to the top. AWESOME. Ari then basically threatens to leave and wishes the ladies the best of luck in moving up the ladder like Babs did. The only thing missing from that was, “Peace, bitches! I'm OUT!” Babs follows him off-stage and wonders what's up, so Ari draws the line in the sand and declares that he wants to split the company in half, declaring civil war. He doesn't give a damn about whatever Barbara wants to do. In return, Babs asks for an apology. Ari gives her one (and I'm pretty sure this is the exact quote):
“I'd like to congratulate each and every one of you, but I'm afraid Barbara's cock is all I could handle.”
And if that wasn't enough, HE SKIPS OUT OF THE ROOM AS HE LEAVES. Another phenomenal Ari blowup.
In Amy's waiting room, Seth and E aren't exactly being cordial, and Seth wonders if he had talked to his girl lately. E tells him she isn't his girl, but then tells him that Sloan called him! So Seth got what he wanted! Or did he? All of a sudden, Charlie tells him he doesn't need to go there before Seth tells him about the suckerpunching. He can't believe it until Seth goes a bit too far, and then says the thing young black actors hate to hear: He'll replace Charlie with Nick Cannon. Oh, boy. So Charlie punches Seth in the face. The look on Seth's face as this is going on is great. Amy comes out, sees the commotion, and the boys all look up at her like sad little puppy dogs.
At the cabin, Drama is getting worked at Wii Tennis by Turtle, so they scuffle a bit before E walks in. Drama tells him that it had been a weird day at the set. E says that they're going to look a bit more in the casting department for Charlie's show. All of a sudden, Vince comes in balancing a tin can on his head, as he's preparing himself for the next morning, saying he's going to kill in his scenes the next day.
As Vince walks upstairs and E wonders what the hell is going on with the actor he's managing, Drama repeats how weird the day had been.
The 411: This was a weird episode, but Seth Green and Kevin Connoly have such great chemistry that it really set things in motion for the bulk of the time. I loved how Vince tried to reaffirm his acting chops, and we'll see how that progresses with two episodes left. In the meantime, I'm left to wonder what exactly will happen with E and Sloan, because her coming back into the picture might mean something big in the future again for E and Seth. Bring it on, says me. One of those set-up episodes I talked about a while back, but a good one, nonetheless.

I agree with Eddie. Seth Green is a douche, period. He's not even playing a character on Entourage, he's being himself, which is someone that needs to be laid out big time.

Does anyone know if the German director on here is an actual director and if so what his name is?
