Four new films in the top five!
Obsessed debuted #1 at the box office, earning $28.5 million. The film had the highest per theater average, pulling in $11,337 per theater. The film had a budget of $20 million.
17 Again fell one spot to the #2 spot, earning $11.6 million and raising its two-week total to $39.9 million.
Fighting debuted #3 at the box office, earning $11.4 million.
The Soloist debuted #4 at the box office, earning $9.7 million.
Earth (2009) debuted #5 at the box office, earning $8.55 million for the weekend, and a total of $14.2 million since opening on Wednesday.
Monsters vs. Aliens fell two spots to #6 at the box office, earning $8.52 million and raising its five-week total to $174.8 million. The film had a budget of $175 million.
State of Play dropped five spots to #7 at the box office, earning $6.8 million and raising its two-week total to $25.1 million.
Hannah Montana the Movie fell five spots to #8 at the box office, earning $6.3 million and raising its three-week total to $65.5 million.
Fast and Furious fell four spots to #9 at the box office, earning $6 million and raising its four-week total to $145 million. The film had a budget of $85 million.
Crank: High Voltage fell four spots to #10 at the box office, earning $2.4 million and raising its two-week total to $11.5 million.

Monsters vs Aliens is making good money, but because of the insanely large budget it's probably going to be considered a minor flop, which is a shame.

It's had a great run so deal with it. 65.5 mil for a movie that relies so heavily on a single audience is pretty darn good. It made moolah, and it has the added bonus of making certain people froth at the mouth which makes for even more entertainment.

I don't understand why so many people want the Hannah Montana movie to fail - especially since it's quite blatantly a massive success for Disney. It appeals to a certain demographic and is successful. Will I be going to watch it? Of course not. But it doesn't offend me - personally I find plenty of other, supposedly more "adult" films, to be much more cynical and offensive.
Plus, Miley is hot, and everyone knows that America loves hot, white, all-American, clean-cut jailbait ass.

I'm against HM b/c I don't like bad movies being successful. If HM makes good money for Disney, then its not good for Disney its bad. B/c then Disney thinks they can continue to churn out crap like that as long as they make money.

Absolute nonsense. Just because you don't like a movie does not make it bad espicially since you probably aren't said movie's target audience. It's for young girls not grown men (i'm gonna assume you are the streotypical internet geek). It's probably perfect for the target audience, and is probably well made, acted, directed, and written like the majority of Disney kiddie movies.
Don't cry because this movie wans't made for you. Stop being selfish, and immature to expect ALL movies to be geared to you.
