[Movies] Mad Max 4 Buzz
Posted by Larry Csonka on 10.22.2009

According to a report by E! News, here is the latest buzz on Mad Max 4. It is still unlikely that Mel Gibson will return to the series, but director George Miller, who was in charge of the three previous films, is interested in casting Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy (Star Trek: Nemesis) for the film. Hardy would presumably play the role of Max. E! goes onto say that the film is a long way from arriving, and that Miller is being very secretive about the roles and plot. Actors auditioning for the film have only been given a letter for their character's name, the studio has yet to sign off on Miller's choices and as of now, no formal offers have been made. Not to mention that previous reports have claimed that the project to be an animated film, with Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker) rumored for a part in the film.

Will Mad Max 4 ever happen?

How old is Hardy? 11? 12 at most judging from that picture.

It's official, Hollywood has run out of original ideas for movies.

I think this could go either way. On the one hand, the fact that the franchise hasn't been touched in over 20 years is a positive.

However, how is this film going to have any continuity with the other 3? Then again, the first three strike me as seperate, stand alone stories anyhow.

If Mel Gibson doesnt play max, it wont be worth seeing at all.

I actually think Colin Ferrell would make a pretty good Mad Max.

They can't have a Mad Max without Mel. He is so dreamy. Maybe they can make Charlize Theron his daughter or something...

Seriously, I think we really said all we had to say with Thunderdome.
