411 Movies Feedback: What is the Best Disaster Film?
Posted by Chad Webb on 11.14.2009

This question should serve as no surprise with 2012 getting released. Roland Emmerich has made many disaster flicks, but has he directed one of your favorites? That raises 411's Movie Feedback question...

What is the Best Disaster Film?

These movies always entertained me when I was younger, but what would usually occur is I would be enthralled in the theater, and forget about it later. Most of the time, efforts of this genre do not age well, and/or are too silly. I do enjoy World Trade Center and Twister, but the all-time best diaster movie is and always will be Titanic until someone can surpass the epic scope and passion James Cameron put forth in this great film. I don't care what anyone says. Leonard DiCaprio and Kate Winslet were amazing, and I still think the film is gripping, moving, and spectacular.

So what is your opinion? What is your favorite film dealing with a major disaster? Do you think any films that will be released in 2009 might change your opinion?

Towering Inferno. McQueen, Newman, Holden and more in a great thriller, the fire ratching up more and more tension as it goes on and the deaths are done well too.

Twister was the fucking raddest movie ever.

Or, like, Armageddon. That shit's cool, too.

Or mother fucking Independance Day! Fuck yeah! That alien made Will Smith miss out on his BBQ so Will Smith kicked some ASS! Smoking all the way! That fat bitch singing, Jeff Goldblum being the smartest cable guy since Jim Carey. That movie had it all!
