[Movies] Hancock 2 Put On Hold
Posted by Ashish on 12.04.2009

Will Smith has decided to put Hancock 2 on hold so he can "spend more time with his family," according to director Peter Berg. Specifically, Smith wants to help his son Jayden prepare for his role in the upcoming Karate Kid remake. Berg still insists that Hancock 2 will still be made eventually.

Here's what Berg had to say...

"It's being written now and it's an issue of everybody involved in Hancock. There are so many cooks in that particular kitchen that it's so busy and Will has kind of taken time off to be with his kids and his kids are now making all kinds of films. There are so many people involved in that, from Will to his (business) partner James Lassiter to Michael Mann, myself and to get us all in the same room just like this where we can all talk and then agree on anything, you've never met a group of people that have a harder time agreeing on anything. It's like the Israeli peace process times a thousand how tough it is to resolve. I think it'll happen though. We just have to kind of get in the same room for some consistency."

Making a sequel to a bad movie (or, at least 1/2 of a bad movie) is more difficult than the Arab-Israeli peace process?

I suppose, because there is at least a reason for the peace process to exist. ;)

Yes, making a sequel to a shitty movie is entirely comparable to the Israeli peace process.

What a fucking stupid thing to say.

Great, now keep it on hold until I'm dead.

Hopefully putting the movie on hold, Will will realize that this movie was ok, but the Public would rather see a prequel to I am Legend, or Bad Boys 3 or Men in Black 3 with Will Smiths Agent J training the Rock

"spend more time with his family,"

I think that means he is having an affair ?!.

Reamking the Karate Kid is bad enough but putting Will Smith's kid in it is even worse. Will Smith is an overrated hack.
