411 Movies Feedback: What Is James Cameron's Best Film?
Posted by Chad Webb on 12.19.2009

Avatar, the long awaited film from Writer and Director James Cameron, has finally arrived. That raises 411's Movie Feedback question...This is similar to last week's question, but oh well.

What is James Cameron's Best Film?

Piranha Part II: The Spawning. Just kidding. Well, excluding Avatar of course, I would say Terminator 2: Judgment Day. The first film is great too, but it doesn't get much better than T2 when you're talking about Mr. Cameron. The acting is uniformly excellent, the direction is slick and brilliant, and the action sequences absolutely never get old. It also made the career of Edward Furlong, who is a good actor when he wants to be. I'm a big fan of most of the James Cameron canon, but if I had to watch one on a rainy day, it would probably be this.

Do you plan on seeing Avatar?

Titanic. No contest. The movie was the very definition of epic. It had NO weakness no matter what certain people claim.

T2 is another awesome movie.

Avatar looks, and comes across as a FF wannabe.

This guy's opinion is officially invalid.

Haha jk, jk.

Seriously though, ignore everything he says. He's a crazy person.

Oh yeah, my favorite James Cameron movie is Abyss. Not enough people have seen it... It's incredible. T2 and Aliens are also of course awesome.

Not jumping on the band wagon. But AVATAR is immense. Titanic although good is a bit girlie. AVATAR hite all ages and genders.

I just watched it in digital then digital 3 d out here. much better as a normal motion picture. my little brain couldn't handle the 3d stuff

Still gotta go with Aliens

Posted By: Diavo (Guest)  on December 19, 2009 at 05:51 AM

Has he had any good films? Terminator 2 was popular but really only for the special effects (which dont hold up at all). That movie made him a name and everything since has been over-hyped, over-rated garbage. Avatar is equally terrible. Go watch Gamer or Surrogates and youve pretty much seen this one.

T1, T2, Aliens or The Abyss??? Too hard, all are classics. I'll go with The Abyss purely due to how underrated it is.

Terminator 2 kicked all kinds of ass.

I didn't mind Titanic that much either, though. Kate Winslet looked gorgeous in it.

Aliens, of course.

Also, Avatar looks kind of awful, honestly. I'll wait for the DVD.

Aliens. It's a watershed moment of sci-fi action films.

T2

Aliens, love that claustrophobic feel and bill paxton's 'game over man' and i will be watching Avatar

Posted By: aga22 (Guest)  on December 19, 2009 at 10:04 AM

Aliens. Over 20 years later, it still may be the best action movie ever made. And its themes of parental love, corporate greed, and paranoia will make it a timeless classic

Posted By: Andy (Guest)  on December 19, 2009 at 10:11 AM

I have a hard time picking, but probably Terminator 2.

Posted By: AG Awesome (Guest)  on December 19, 2009 at 10:14 AM

T2 by far.

T2 can't be beat. It might be my all time favorite movie.

Terminator 2. Cameron is the master.

Posted By: MBD (Guest)  on December 19, 2009 at 03:16 PM

T2 is his best. Avatar is all visuals with mediocre story.

The Terminator

As Terminator is my favourite film franchise, i would say T2 is his best

Titanic. No contest. The movie was the very definition of epic. It had NO weakness no matter what certain people claim.

So.. you dont consider a boring ass story about a boat sinking to be a weakness?

True Lies

Posted By: Bleh (Guest)  on December 19, 2009 at 05:47 PM

Completely agree with Guest#0017. Avatar is horrible and not worth the extra money to see it in 3D. The story is overly simplistic and insulting while the effects aren't anything special.

ALIENS.

IM stiil confused about why so many went and saw Titanic. Didnt they know how the movie ended before they got their ticket?

Posted By: Guest#5934 (Guest)  on December 20, 2009 at 01:17 AM

Guest#0017,

Are you kidding me?! T2 was the best action movie of all time. There are no comparisons. Regardless, it's not just an action movie. There are morals and life lessons. Who told me this? You did. 35 years from now you reprogrammed me to be your educator here - in this time.

T2 -- hands down

No, I don't plan on seeing Avatar...I wanna see Aquaman!!!!

i wouldnt count avatar already. its more than just a movie. the rest T2, aliens, titanic, true lies, etc.. were just "movies"

seriously avatar for me is that good

Posted By: Guest#2769 (Guest)  on December 20, 2009 at 09:23 PM

Aliens. Easy. Closest runner-up is T2, then True Lie, then The Terminator, then...ehhhh...I've yet to see Avatar, but can't stand Titanic. So there ya go.
