Alexandre Aja's fishy horror film feels the bite...
Amidst long-lasting reports that the Weinstein Company has fallen into heavy financial difficulty, Shock Till You Drop is reporting that the latest film from The Hills Have Eyes's Alexandre Aja, Piranha 3D, has been bumped from its April 16th, 2010 release date to August 27th. In addition, the site is speculating that the film may not be in 3-D as originally planned.
August has not traditionally been a good month for the Weinstein Company, who released bombs Halloween II, The Last Legion and Pulse during the final month of summer. On the plus side, there was Inglourious Basterds. Piranha 3-D stars Elisabeth Shue (Leaving Las Vegas), Ving Rhames (Dawn of the Dead), Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future) and Jerry O'Connell (Obsessed).
Jennifer Parker & Doc Brown reunited? I've got to see this!

Because they didn't shoot it in 3-D! They were hoping a computer would render it in 3-D and shot it on regular cameras. Now they are scrambling to go frame by frame and make it 3-d.
