[Movies] Shooting or Burke & Hare To Begin Next Week
Posted by Larry Csonka on 02.05.2010

According to IGN, shooting for Burke & Hare will begin next week. Burke & Hare is described as a dark comedy, based on the exploits of the grave robbers (Burke & Hare) who rose to infamy in the 1820s. Simon Pegg will play William Burke, while Andy Serkis (not David Tennant as first reported) will play William Hare. Also confirmed for the cast are Tom Wilkinson and Tim Curry as a pair of medical professors, Isla Fisher as the object of Burke's affections, and Jessica Hynes as Hare's long-suffering wife Lucky. Christopher Lee, David Schofield, Reece Shearsmith, Bill Bailey and Ronnie Corbett are also confirmed for the project. John Landis will direct the film, and had the following to say on the film…

"Burke & Hare is a very black romantic comedy in the classic tradition of the Ealing Studios' Kind Hearts and Coronets and The Ladykillers."
