[TV] Jay Leno Commercial Pokes Fun at Conan
Posted by Chris Lansdell on 02.20.2010

Here's a TV spot advertising Jay Leno's return to The Tonight Show following the Olympics. As you can see, he doesn't seem too bothered by usurping Conan.

Not that I like the guy, but what was he supposed to do to advertise his return? That was pretty understated.
It's not like he was gloating or insulting Conan.

How exactly does that poke fun at Conan?
That will be the time the show will be on.

Actually not a bash on Conan. It's called, proper advertising.

I'm a big Coco supporter, but I really don't see how this commercial pokes fun at him at all.

Leno owns Conan.

I won't be watching.

Until Conan has a new show I'm watching Letterman

I dont care for Leno but I dont see the "insult" in this comercial

That's actually just NBC reusing their old "Leno at 10" commercials that probably cost them a lot of money to make.

It's just CGI effects added over the 10 to make it 11:30... Which is pretty funny actually. They don't care enough to invest anymore money in Leno than the have to.

Could it be the "Be Back" song?

I hate Leno... But I do not see where he pokes fun at Conan...

Um, yea that's just a simple promo.... What were they supposed to say?

the title's misleading.

Ya because Conan was a wise investment.

I can see the opening monologue where Leno cracks some horrible joke and his butt buddy Eubanks says oh yeah Jay, I heard that Jay.

The Crimson Chin screws everyone when it comes to late night, enjoy the grannies!!!

This doesn't poke fun at Conan. The only "dig", if you even choose to call it that, was the commercial featuring The Beatles' "Get Back" as the music. On Conan's last Tonight Show he used some Beatles music which supposedly cost NBC to fork over a lot of money so their using Beatles music on Jay's commercial is kind of like NBC saying "If Conan thinks he can be a dick and use Beatles music, so can we."

Not that this really matters. Fuck Leno. He sucks.

Well there's Leno's smirk as the stickers peel off to reveal the new time, there's the "get back to where you once belonged" line in the song, and the Beatles point mentioned above. Other than that, nooooo. No cheap shots here.

Anyone who perceives this as a shot against Conan is semi-retarded at best.

Posted By: Jim (Guest)  on February 21, 2010 at 02:35 PM

I hope is ratings don't "get back" to where they were on his 10 o'clock show cause then they will need new shows to fill in this time slot of 11:30

Parenthood 2. the story of the kids from the new hit show parenthood watching their kids growing up.

This is the commercial that aired for his 10 PM show. Now they just added the number 10 peeling off to reveal 11:35
