[Movies] The First Look At The New Godzilla
Posted by Larry Csonka on 07.26.2010

- By using Augmented Reality at the San Diego Comic-Con, Legendary Pictures debuted a first look at the new Godzilla. Production for the film has started and Warner Bros. Pictures is targeting for a 2012 release. Comic-Con attendees were able to receive a t-shirt with the below image of Godzilla. When they were able to look into a web cam set up at the Legendary Pictures booth, the person wearing the shirt saw a superimposed animation of Godzilla's "atomic breath" shooting out into the air in front of them. This also included black smoke rising from the flames and the ground-shaking bellow of Godzilla's instantly recognizable roar.

So, this is a remake of a remake? Well, I think we've broken from "bottom of the barrel" to "we give up" territory.

If the English isn't poorly dubbed, then it's not really a "Godzilla" movie...

Well you gotta admit it looks better then that abomination they tried back in '98.

As long as they don't call P. Diddy for the soundtrack...

Matthew Broderick? I don't know but I think that's his wife on the poster.

Can I get a Cloverfield 2 instead of this? That 98 remake was one of the worst movies I've ever seen in theaters, up there with Date Movie.

Better than GINO, if nothing else.

I loved the remake of Destroy All Monsters! that came out a few years back. Godzilla Final Wars. Highly recommended to fans of pure awesomeness.

Who's directing it, Michael Bay? Thankfully, Roland Emmerich isn't interested.

You saw Date Movie in the theater? Man, that's almost as bad than the time I paid to see Poetic Justice. Janet Jackson's acting in that film gave me nightmares for weeks. I think that movie was the beginning of the end for Tupac. At least Date Movie had Alyson Hannigan. Unfortunately, her comic wits and sex appeal(yes, redheads are my weakness)wasn't able to make that film half entertaining. Still it beats Janet reciting poetry.

The whole time I was watching Cloverfield, I kept wishing I could replace their goofy looking monster with Godzilla. (Also, ditch the stupid parasites.)
