[Gossip] Shia LeBeouf, Mickey Rourke Linked to Hell's Angels
Posted by Chris Lansdell on 08.09.2010

According to a report, Shia LeBeouf is the leading candidate to star opposite Mickey Rourke in the upcoming Tony Scott film Hell's Angels. LeBeouf is also attached to star in Scott's adaptation of The Associate, and the director is said to be deciding on which film he wants to shoot first.

LeBeouf was first linked with the film a few months ago. Rourke is set to play Sonny Barger, who founded the Oakland chapter of the famed motorcycle gang and helped make them into a national entity. Not only has Rourke played a biker in Rumble Fish and Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man, he was also trained in boxing by Chuck Zito, a former president of the New York chapter.

Scott Frank did a rewrite of the script that is said to be "framed as a Donnie Brasco-style drama. It would be a two-hander with a younger actor playing a cop who attempts to infiltrate the club to investigate alleged criminal activities."
