Jamie Foxx and Tyler Perry are being sued for $1 million dollars each by a prisoner who claims they stole his idea.
The two are putting together a film called Skank Robberts, which would feature Foxx's Wanda from In Living Color, Martin Lawrence's Sheneneh from Martin and Perry's Madea as bank robbers.
Shamont Lyle Sapp, the prisoner in question, says he gave Foxx and Perry the idea. Sapp is currently serving time for ten bank robberies in Oklahoma. Sapp claims that his version wasn't a comedy, but a drama about a mental hospital.
The lawsuit details Sapp's idea: "A male white mental patient takes Madea hostage ... He deals with phone calls from the negotiators, as Madea actually pleads for her life in a very sad tear-jerking way ... Her pleas are to be very sad. No jokes at all." Sapp is also suing Fox Broadcasting and producer David Zuckerman, which is a total of $4 million in damages.
The film is actually based off a sketch that aired in 2009 on the BET Awards, long before Sapp was said to have presented Perry with the idea.
