[TV] Ratings Report Modern Family Wins The Night

But the People's Choice Awards guide CBS to the network win...
Modern Family won the night in the ratings, but CBS continued its winning ways overall thanks to the People's Choice Awards. The awards show was down against last year with a 6.1 rating and 9.1 million viewers, but paired with a Criminal Minds rerun it was enough to hand CBS the win. The network averaged a 6.0 rating and 8.9 million viewers for the night, ahead of ABC's 5.7 rating and 8.8 million viewers. NBC was third with a 5.2 and an audience of 7.75 million while Fox came in fourth (1.9, 3 million) and The CW was last (0.9, 1.3 million).
Modern Family dropped a bit from its return last week but was still strong enough to win the night with a 7.4 rating and 12.3 million viewers. NBC's return of Whitney paired with Are You There, Chelsea? did okay but not great, while the premiere of One Tree Hill's last season gave the network the highest rating in its timeslot of almost a year.
