[TV] David Cronenberg And Jeff Fahey Join The Cast Of Syfy's Rewind
Posted by Joseph Lee on 05.04.2012

Coming Soon reports that both David Cronenberg and Jeff Fahey will guest star in the ninety-minute pilot for Rewind from BermanBraun and Universal Cable Productions.

Four actors have been signed to join Shane McRae, including Keisha Castle-Hughes, Jennifer Ferrin, Robbie Jones and Keon Mohajeri. Jack Bender (Lost) will direct from a screenplay by Justin Marks. Marks will also executive produce with Tom Spezialy, Gail Berman, Lloyd Braun and Gene Stein. The show has already begun production in Toronto.

Here's a synopsis: "Rewind" revolves around a team of military field operatives and civilian scientists who must use untested technology to travel back in time to alter past events in order to change the future and avoid a devastating terrorist attack.

Castle-Hughes will portray Priya, the team's historian and behavioral anthropologist. Her knowledge of history goes "beyond the boundaries of facts". Jennifer Ferren will play a scientist named Bryce who is incredibly intelligent and "doesn't care what people think of her". Jones will play Danny, Knox's (Shane McRae) friend. Mohajeri plays Charlie, a mathematician who created the technology that can "reduce history to mathematics, in order to measure the team's action in the past."

Cronenberg will play a Nobel Prize winner who is "unhinged" after the death of his wife, and puts in motion a plan to "alter the course of history.". Fahey plays Ellis, a former NASA aerospace engineer and part of the team. He is described as "intensely loyal" to Bryce.

McRae stars as Sean Knox, "ex-Special Forces who ranks as a field operative in a special division of the Department of Homeland Security. A self-aware, wry, clever and razor-sharp strategic mind, Knox likes to be underestimated. Now, Knox has been recruited for a nearly impossible top-secret mission: to travel back in time to prevent a devastating terrorist attack."
