Plus a new contest...
Coming Soon has full details of Warner Bros and Village Roadshow Pictures new LEGO movie, which was rumored to be called LEGO: The Piece of Resistance. The cast will include Will Arnett, Elizabeth Banks, Chris Pratt and Morgan Freeman in the original 3D animated film.
Here's a synopsis: The film, the first-ever full length theatrical LEGO movie, follows Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.
Chris Pratt (Moneyball) voices Emmett. Morgan Freeman (The Dark Knight Rises) plays old mystic Vitruvius and Elizabeth Banks (The Hunger Games) voices Lucy, who mistakes Emmet for the savior of the world. Meanwhile, Will Arnett (30 Rock) will voice Batman, who shares a history with Lucy. The film will be released on February 28, 2014.
Phil Lord & Christopher Miller (21 Jump Street, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) will direct from their original screenplay, based on a story by Dan Hageman & Kevin Hageman and Phil Lord & Christopher Miller, and, of course, the LEGO toys. The film will be produced by Dan Lin (Sherlock Holmes) and Roy Lee (The Departed, How to Train Your Dragon).
The studio is currently holding a contest, giving fans a chance to design a vehicle that will appear in the film. You can find details in the video below and the official LEGO Facebook.
