[Movies] Max Minghella In Talks To Join Horns
Posted by Joseph Lee on 09.05.2012

Variety reports that Max Minghella (The Social Network, The Ides of March) is set to join Daniel Radcliffe in Alexandre Aja's adaptation of Joe Hill's novel Horns, which is being produced by financier Red Granite Pictures and Mandalay Pictures. Keith Bunin wrote the screenplay.

Radcliffe plays Ig Perrish, who wakes up one morning with horns coming out of his head. He then realizes that the horns allow him to force people to speak the truth, confess their sins and give in to their impulses. This helps him on his quest to find out who killed his late girlfriend. Minghell will likely play Lee Tourneau, a public defender with a dark side.

Red Granite's Riza Aziz and Joey McFarland are producing with Mandalay's Cathy Schulman and Adam Stone. Hill and Red Granite's Joe Gatta will executive produce. Filming begins in the fall. Red Granite Pictures' international sales arm will handle foreign sales.

Minghella recently finished work on Joe Johnston's Universal thriller Not Safe For Work and is currently filming Shawn Levy's FOX comedy The Internship with Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson. He starred with Emile Hirsch in The Darkest Hour and can next be seen with Channing Tatum in 10 Years, a film about a high school reunion.
