[Movies] Milla Jovovich Reveals Studio Wanted Her To Take Guns Into Japanese Theater To Promote Resident Evil: Retribution Posted by Joseph Lee on 09.11.2012
Not long after the Colorado shootings...
In an interview with The New York Daily News, Milla Jovovich revealed that she was asked to take guns and shoot zombies in a theater at the Japanese premiere of Resident Evil: Retribution, not long after the Aurora, Colorado shootings. Here are highlights of the interview:
On critics not liking the Resident Evil series (which have earned $675 million worldwide): "If we got credit critically, the movies would bomb. We've had great luck getting bad reviews and having successful movies, so I'm like, ‘If it ain't broke, don't fix it.'"
On if movies create violence: "Movies don't create violence. What matters is the amount of time you spend with your children talking about your family values."
On a promotional stunt the studio wanted her to do: "They asked me to come out and shoot zombies in the theater. And I was like, ‘There's absolutely no way I'm doing anything violent in a movie theater.'"
