[TV] Stargate Star Joining Supernatural in Recurring Role
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 09.18.2012

Amanda Tapping, best known as Samantha Carter in Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis, has joined season eight of Supernatural. Zap2It reports that tapping will play an angel named Naomi on the show. Executive producer Jeremy Carver described the character as "cool and mysterious, part of a new group of angels we've never seen before." Naomi will start off appearing very polished and in control, willing to sacrifice everything for the greater good, but throughout the season her demeanor begins to unravel.

In addition, Mike Farrell, known for his role as Captain Hunnicutt on M.A.S.H., will appear in the eighth episode of the season. Farrell will play "an aging mentalist with a slippery grasp on reality."

The show returns on October 3rd.
