Marco Beltrami (Scream, Hellboy) will score the upcoming film The Wolverine, according to Film Music Reporter.
The latest X-Men film is directed by James Mangold (Walk the Line, Identity) and stars Hugh Jackman as Wolverine/Logan. It also stars Will Yun Lee, Hiroyuki Sanada and Brian Tee.It follows Wolverine as he goes to Japan to deal with a mysterious figure from his past in a fight that has "lasting consequences".
The film was written by Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects, Valkyrie) and Mark Bomback (Unstoppable, Live Free or Die Hard). Lauren Shuler-Donner (X-Men series), Marvel Entertainment's Kevin Feige, Jackman and Hutch Parker are producing.
Beltrami previously scored 2007's 3:10 to Yuma, which starred Russell Crowe and Christian Bale. For his efforts, he was nominated for his first Academy Award.
The Wolverine finished principal photography in Australia and Japan. It will be released on July 26, 2013 by 20th Century Fox.
