[TV] JJ Abrams Teams With Harry Potter Director for New TV Series
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 09.22.2012

Deadline reports that J.J. Abrams is teaming up with director Alfonso Cuaron (Y Tu Mama Tambien, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban).

Cuaron is developing the series with Abrams. In addition, Cuaron is also slated to co-write and direct the pilot which is still currently untitled for NBC. Abrams is executive producing the show. This will be the first TV project for Cuaron.

The story has been described as "a girl in possession of a great gift/powers — which will come into their own in seven years — and the man who is sprung from prison to protect her from those trying to hunt her down."

Mark Friedman is co-writing the pilot with Cuaron. They will also be credited as executive producers with Abrams along with Bryan Burk.
