All the way back to the first Pirates of the Caribbean...
The crew member on The Lone Ranger who died on the set this past week was a long-time professional associate of Jerry Bruckheimer and Johnny Depp. TMZ reports that Mike Bridger, the welder and water safety man who died while working in a large water tank on the film, got his big break in the business on the set of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.
According to the site, Bruckheimer respected his work and hired him for the other Pirates films as well as Lone Ranger. Bridger was also close with Depp due to their work on the films.
According to close friends of the family, they don't blame the company for the death and like law enforcement believe the death was due to a heart attack. Bridger was forty-eight.
