[Gossip] Bad News Bears Actress Dies From Alleged Drunk Driving Accident
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 10.11.2012

E! Online reports that Sammi Kane Kraft who was featured in the 2005 remake of Bad News Bears, died in a car accident on Tuesday. She was only 20 years old.

The Los Angeles Fire Department reported that the collision occurred at 1:35AM on Tuesday and involved a single vehicle and a big rig.

Kraft was a passenger in an audi that was reportedly "traveling at a high rate of speed" on the westbound 10 Freeway near Crenshaw Boulevard about 1:30AM. At that time it rear-ended a big rig and was then hit by another car. The driver was Molly Kate Adams, age 21. They were both trapped in the vehicle before they were taken to two separate hospitals. Adams received treatment for moderate injuries at California Hospital medical Center. She was arrested on suspicion of felony drunk driving. Kraft was then transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

CHP is currently handling the investigation.

Kraft portrayed Amanda Whurlitzer in the 2005 Bears movie, who was played by Tatum O'Neal in the 1976 original Bears movie.
