[Movies] Universal Orders Rewrite For Scarface Posted by Larry Csonka on 10.17.2012
Say hello to my little pen…
According to deadline, the remake of Scarface is still moving forward, and Paul Atanasio (Quiz Show) has been assigned to rewrite the project. The story first came to the big screen in 1932, and was directed by Howard Hawks. The film told the story of a gangster's rise to power was based on the 1929 Armitage Trail novel of the same name. In 1983, Brian De Palma offered a modernized update of the story with Al Pacino in the lead, which is the version best known today. The new take on the story is expected to borrow elements from both Hawks and De Palma's takes on the material.
