[Gossip] Ariel Winters' Mother Says She Didn't Abuse Her Daughter

She says Ariel's making it up...
TMZ reports that the mother of Modern Family star Ariel Winter insists she did not abuse her daughter. She says Ariel is making up stories because her mother refused to let her daughter engage in sexual acts with her 18-year-old boyfriend.
Winter's mother, Crystal Workman, released a statement to Celebuzz stating, "I love my daughter very much. I would never abuse her in anyway and I have always tried my best to always protect her and do what is right for her."
She went to say: "My fourteen-year-old daughter has been dating an eighteen-and-a-half-year-old man, and when I caught them engaging in behavior that I feel my daughter is too young mentally and physically to understand and fully grasp I put a stop to it immediately. Being a teenager 'in love' I thought [Ariel] would cry and sulk and eventually her broken heart would heal. I would have never of dreamed, that she would take it to this level."
Workman says she did file charges against Winter's boyfriend saying, "I filed charges against him because legally he is an adult and if he wants to engage in adult behavior with a minor than he should also be ready to suffer adult consequences for his actions."
TMZ reports that the Sheriff's Special Victims' Bureau does have an open investigation into Crystal's allegations.
According to the report, Crystal Workman's incident report to the Sheriff wasn't filed until five days after Workman lost custody of Ariel. TMZ court sources also say there is not one mention of the boyfriend in the documents relating to Ariel's removal from the house.
Winter is currently in the care of her older sister Shanelle who has temporary guardianship over Ariel. Crystal Workman claims that Shanelle only came "out of the woodwork once it was announced that the kids on the show got a big raise recently."
