MTV spoke with producer Frank Marshall and Lucasfilm's new president Kathleen Kennedy at the premiere of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2, and Marshall said they are close to finding a director for Star Wars Episode VII.
When asked if he has any information, he said: "I do, but I can't reveal it, or I won't be alive tomorrow."
He then said the search for a director was narrowed down to "a couple of candidates", but he doesn't know when the public will find out. He added: "I'm really excited about this. I didn't grow up with it, but I was a big fan and have been since the series started. I'll always remember seeing that big mother-ship go over the screen. I've never forgotten it. I can't wait to see what's next."
