According to celebritynetworth.com, Sean Connery has revealed a long standing rumor, he turned down the role of Gandolf for the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The veteran actor was offered the role, with pay at $6 million a film along with a 15% stake in the film franchise's box office profits. Some have estimated that Connery lost out on close to $450 million. When asked about not taking the role in the films, Conery had the following to say…
"I read the book. I read the script. I saw the movie. I still don't understand it. Ian McKellen, I believe, is marvelous in it."
