[Gossip] UPDATED: Elmo Will Not Be Pulled Over Kevin Clash Scandal

And he's still in the Thanksgiving's Day parade...
UPDATE: In addition to not being yanked from stores, Elmo is staying in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. TMZ reports that according to a rep from Macy's, "Elmo will be joining his Muppet friends on the Sesame Street float with an alternate puppeteer bringing him to life."
The rep added, "Current events have no bearing on Sesame's participation in the Parade and we are confident their world-renowned, family-friendly entertainment and educational programming will continue to bring kids and families joy for decades."
ORIGINAL: Elmo will not be yanked from stores as a reaction to accusations of underage sex against the now-former voice of the puppet, Kevin Clash. TMZ reports that over twenty toy stores across the country have been contacted and that none of them have pulled the Sesame Street character from the shelves; many were unaware of that Clash has resigned due to accusations by a second man.
Among the stores contacted were Toys R' Use stores in New York City; North Lakeland, Florida; Brandon, Florida; Austin, Texas and Greenville, South Carolina. Several had the "Laugh Out Loud Elmo" dolls sold out and were awaiting new stock.
