Steven Spielberg told The Daily Mail that he wanted to film a James Bond movie in the late 1970s but was turned down.
He said: "I went to Cubby Broccoli and I asked if I could do one and he said: 'No'. I've never asked again. Instead, I made the Indiana Jones series."
He said he's still a fan of the series and praised Sam Mendes' Skyfall (which is soon to pass Avatar in the UK as the biggest film of the country). Spielberg added: "I've seen it once and I'll see it a second time."
