[Movies] Flight of the Navigator Remake Gets Writers

The duo behind Safety Not Guaranteed...
Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly are set to rewrite a remake of Disney's Flight of the Navigator. Variety reports that the two, who wrote this year's Safety Not Guaranteed (which Trevorrow also directed), will do a full rewrite to the first script by Brad Copeland (Arrested Development). Trevorrow could also end up directing the film.
The film is a remake of the 1986 sci-fi adventure that centered on David, a twelve year-old who ends piloting on an alien spacecraft and returns home eight years after without having aged. The film starred Joey Cramer, Veronica Cartwright, Sarah Jessica Parker and the voice of Paul Reubens.
