[Movies] Charlize Theron Signs on for American Sympathy for Lady Vengeance Remake

Theron will play the American version of Lady Vengeance...
Variety reports that Charlize Theron's Denver & Delilah Films is partnering with Annapurna Pictures and CJ Entertainment to remake Sympathy for Lady Vengeance. It would be based on an adaptation by William Monahan, based on the 2005 South Korean movie by director Park Chan-wook. Theron is set to star in the title role.
Theron would star as a woman who completes a prison sentence for a murder she took the fall for. After her release, the decides to concoct a plan to punish the true killer and avenge those he murdered.
Monahan stated, "This will be very American -- and very unexpected. Park is a genius; it's the Everest of adaptations, and I've got blood in my teeth to do it."
Spike Lee is currently working on a remake of another film in Park Chan-wook's famous Vengeance Trilogy in Oldboy which is due out in 2013.
