[Movies] Skyfall Is The Highest Grossing UK Movie Of All Time

Superhero Hype reports that Skyfall is now the highest-grossing UK film of all time, earning £94,277,612 ($151,834,094) in 40 days. The film comes from EON Productions, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment.
It has passed the previous record-holder, Avatar, which had a lifetime gross of £94,025,632 ($151,428,280) during eleven months of release. Skyfall opened in 587 theaters in the UK and Ireland on October 26 and is still in release.
Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said: "We're overwhelmed with gratitude to the cinema-going audiences in the UK who have made SKYFALL the highest grossing film of all time. We are very proud of this film and thank everybody, especially Daniel Craig and Sam Mendes, who have contributed to its success."
The film has earned $869.7 million worldwide, almost reaching the $900 million mark.
