The third film is moving ahead...
Looks like we will be getting a Tron 3 after all. Jesse Wigutow has been tapped to write the still-as-yet untitled sequel, according to The Hollywood Reporter. THR says that Wigutow will rewrite the current script, which was drafted by David DiGilio, Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz; it seems that Disney wants to move ahead with a quicker pace than they had originally been moving.
No plot has yet been revealed, though earlier this year it was reported that the third film would "involve an exploration of life and death in the digital realm." Whether any of the main actors--Jeff Bridges, Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde and Bruce Boxleitner--will return is not yet known, though Joseph Kosinski is attached to return as the director.
