After a little while being stuck in limbo, Columbia Pictureshas made some progress in a sequel to 2010's Salt. THR reports that the studio has hired Becky Johnston (Under the Cherry Moon, Seven Years in Tibet) to rewrite Kurt Wimmer's script for the sequel. Angelina Jolie is expected to return as Evelyn Salt, who in the first film was sent on the run after being accused of being a spy for Russia.
Jolie requested the rewrites after Kurt Wimmer completed the first draft of the film last year.
