A must for any Bond fan...
Superhero Hype reports that the Bond 50 22-film Blu-ray set is the best-selling blu-ray box set of 2012. The projected worldwide sales total $50 million so far.
The set features all 22 films on 23 discs with over 122 hours of bonus features. It was released on September 24 in the UK and September 25 in North America. Other international markets had the set in October. It was released to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the Bond franchise. The campaign began at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas and included a first ever Bond vehicle exhibit at the San Diego Comic-Con, the re-release of Dr. No in U.S. movie theaters, a Roger Moore Internationa press day and the "007 Days of Bond: the Blu-relay Tour" in the UK.
Michael Brown, the Executive Vice President of Marketing for MGM, said: "The Bond franchise is alive and stronger than ever as evidenced by the spectacular sales of the BOND 50 box set. BOND 50 has become an instant collector's item and a must have for any Bond fan this holiday season."
The set also included an additional slot for Skyfall, which was released this year. That film has went on to become the highest grossing Bond film of all time, earning $918 million worldwide for Sony.
