Ricky Gervais has confirmed on his Twitter that he has been cast in the lead human role of The Muppets 2.
He will join Ty Burrell, who will play an Interpol agent. Director James Bobin and writer Nicholas Stoller will both return, while Jason Segel will not.
Gervais wrote: "I have just signed up to play the lead in the next Muppet Movie. I have the biggest trailer but Kermit will spend some time in my sink."
