Disney CEO Says Marvel Theme Parks Likely on the West Coast

But not so much on the East coast...
Disney's CEO has reiterated the possibility of the studio opening up a Marvel theme part sometime in the future. Bob Iger spoke with Reuters (via the Disney Blog) and said that there is unlikely to be a Marvel park on the East coast due to licensing agreements, but that a West Coast one is possible as well as overseas in places like China, Japan and France.
The licensing on the East coast has to do with Universal, who has long-standing agreements with Marvel that have been in place for years and will remain so due to the terms keeping them in play for a long time. However, anything west of the Mississippi is far game and the few Marvel/Universal tie-ins that were in place have already gone away since Disney procured the company.
No word on when it might happen, but it is probably just a matter of time at this point.
