[Movies] CIA Director Criticizes Zero Dark Thirty Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 12.23.2012
He says it's not accurate...
The Central Intelligence Agency has published a statement on their official website in which acting CIA Director Michael Morell has criticized director Kathryn Bigelow for her movie, Zero Dark Thirty, and condemned the movie for its portrayal of certain events.
Morell slammed the film saying that it "takes significant artistic licence, while portraying itself as being historically accurate." Morell added: "The film creates the strong impression that the enhanced interrogation techniques that were part of our former detention and interrogation program were the key to finding Bin Laden. That impression is false. The film takes considerable liberties in its depiction of CIA personnel and their actions, including some who died while serving our country. We cannot allow a Hollywood film to cloud our memory of them."
Zero Dark Thirty, which documents the near 10 year manhunt to find Osama Bin Laden is now in theaters in limited release.
