NCIS was the highest rated show of the evening, while ABC's animated and then live action version of Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas stole the key demographics for the evening. Overall, CBS averaged 8.1 million viewers and a 5.1 rating/10 share in households for the night. ABC finished second with 5.4 million viewers and a 2.8/5.
